An executive's day is a chain of commitments. The car is the link that must not break: if it is ten minutes late, a call starts without you; if it takes the wrong entrance, a delegation waits in a lobby; if the driver talks about the last passenger's destination, the story leaves the car. An executive chauffeur service is built around those risks. LimousineWorldwideDirectory.com books executive chauffeur service in cities across six regions through a 24/7 desk, and each trip is delivered by a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local operator.

This page is written for two readers: the executive who travels, and the assistant who books for them.

What is an executive chauffeur service?

An executive chauffeur service provides professional drivers and late-model sedans or SUVs for senior leaders, with pre-booked schedules, confidentiality and account-based invoicing. It is used for airport transfers, multi-stop days, board travel and client visits, and it is usually booked by an assistant.

The word "executive" describes the use, not the vehicle. The same car could be used for a family holiday, but the executive version of the service differs in what it protects: time, privacy and the person's attention. Our chauffeurs are experienced professionals, and executive bookings are often a long-running relationship with one operator in a city.

Executive car service for the assistant who books

Most executive bookings are made by someone other than the traveler. A good booking process makes the assistant's work easier and the principal's trip invisible.

  • Book for a principal. Enter the traveler's details, or use an alias if the name should not appear on the board or in the car.
  • One account, many travelers. Corporate accounts with monthly invoicing mean no personal cards and no expense claims for individual trips.
  • Several legs, one booking desk. A trip through Chicago, Toronto and London is booked with one desk, and each leg produces its own confirmation.
  • Changes are handled by people. The 24/7 desk takes calls at any hour, and an assistant on another time zone can adjust a pickup without waiting for office hours.
  • Clear confirmations. Each confirmation names the vehicle class, the pickup point and the meeting instructions, so it can be forwarded to the principal.

For the account side, see corporate car service. Trade accounts are available to travel agents, DMCs and hotel concierges; see travel trade.

Confidentiality: what that means in a car

Confidentiality is not a slogan. It is a handful of working rules.

  • Chauffeurs do not photograph clients or post about trips. That includes social media, group chats and anything that identifies who was in the car or where it went.
  • NDAs are signed on request. If your organization has its own form, tell the desk before the first trip.
  • Alias bookings. The name on the booking, the board and the manifest can be an alias.
  • Calls and conversations stay in the car. A professional chauffeur does not comment on what is said in the back seat.
  • Pickup points can be discreet. At airports and hotels, ask for a side entrance or a car-park level instead of the main arrivals door where this is allowed.

We are a chauffeur service, not a security company: no armed drivers and no bodyguards. Where an executive travels with a security team, the chauffeur works alongside it and follows its instructions on routes and timing.

The working car: Wi-Fi, calls and quiet

Executives use the back seat as an office, and a few expectations are worth setting realistically.

Water and phone chargers are available in most vehicles. Wi-Fi in the car is not something we promise; if you need a reliable connection for a video call, bring a hotspot or an eSIM and check coverage for the route. In older city centres and tunnels, mobile signal drops regardless of the car.

A First Class Sedan, such as a Mercedes-Benz S-Class or BMW 7 Series, is the usual choice when the rear seat has to work as an office. An Executive Sedan, such as a Mercedes-Benz E-Class or Cadillac CT6 or Lyriq, suits shorter hops. Both take up to three passengers with two large and two cabin bags. In Europe and Asia the sedan classes are Mercedes-Benz E-Class and S-Class. See luxury chauffeur service.

The multi-stop day

The executive chauffeur earns the most on a day with many stops. Imagine this in Chicago: an 07:30 pickup from a hotel, a 08:30 breakfast, a 10:00 meeting at a plant, a lunch, a 14:00 call from the car, a late-afternoon site visit and a 19:00 dinner. In a taxi or rideshare, each leg means a new wait, a new driver and a new pickup point. With an hourly booking, one chauffeur takes the whole day. See hourly chauffeur service.

How to plan the day:

  1. Send the itinerary in advance, with addresses, names of buildings and entrance details.
  2. Mark the fixed times. The chauffeur plans around them and tells you if the sequence is unrealistic.
  3. Name the contacts. The driver needs the assistant's number, not just the executive's.
  4. Allow a buffer. In a congested city, a 15-minute buffer between meetings prevents a late start from cascading.
  5. Say who sits where. If the principal prefers a particular door or seat, tell the desk once and it carries into the notes.

A roadshow is the extreme case of the multi-stop day: several cities, several investor meetings per day. See roadshow car service.

Executive airport transfers

Airport transfers are the most common executive booking, and the details matter.

  • Flight tracking on every airport pickup. The chauffeur follows the actual landing time.
  • Waiting time of 60 minutes free after landing on international arrivals, 30 minutes on domestic arrivals, and 15 minutes on other pickups.
  • Meet-and-greet inside arrivals as an add-on, with an alias on the board if preferred. See meet-and-greet service.
  • Private aviation. Terminals for private jets have their own procedures; see private jet car service.

Typical distances help planning:

  • London Heathrow to the City of London: about 24 to 32 km (15 to 20 miles), commonly 45 to 75 minutes by day.
  • New York JFK to Midtown Manhattan: about 24 km (15 miles), 40 to 60 minutes off-peak, more at weekday rush hour.
  • Frankfurt Airport to central Frankfurt: about 12 km (7.5 miles), usually 20 to 30 minutes. See Frankfurt chauffeur service.
  • Toronto Pearson to downtown: about 27 km (17 miles), 30 to 60 minutes.

Airport rules vary. Heathrow, for example, charges vehicles each time they enter terminal drop-off areas and does not allow pick-ups or waiting there, according to its drop-off page. In London the Congestion Charge applies from 07:00 to 18:00 Monday to Friday and 12:00 to 18:00 on weekends and bank holidays, as Transport for London explains. The chauffeur knows these rules, and the executive does not need to.

Before the trip: entry rules for international executives

Executives often travel at short notice, and an electronic travel authorization is a common cause of problems. The UK's Electronic Travel Authorisation usually brings a decision within a day, sometimes up to three working days, and you must have the confirmation before you travel (GOV.UK ETA). The EU's Entry/Exit System affects non-EU short-stay visitors, with details on the EU travel information site. Ask your assistant to check these before the flight is booked, not after.

If the executive is traveling alone, light, to a central hotel beside a rail station, the train is often the better answer. The chauffeur is worth it when the schedule is tight, when the trip involves calls or documents, when guests are being hosted, or when the journey is long.

Board days, shareholder meetings and executive offsites

Single-executive bookings are only part of the work. The harder jobs are the days when several senior people converge on the same address within a short window: a board meeting, a shareholder event, an offsite, an investor day. These need a plan that treats the arrivals as one operation.

Build the arrival manifest first

Start with a list that shows, for each person, the city they travel from, the flight or train number, the time they must be at the venue and any privacy requirement. Group people who arrive within a similar window and from the same airport. A chairman and a chief executive arriving separately may each need their own car, while three directors landing within the same hour might share a Sprinter. The assistant who builds the manifest is doing the difficult part; the desk turns it into bookings.

Stagger arrivals at the venue

If twelve cars arrive at the same door at 08:55 for a 09:00 board meeting, the forecourt jams and the principal may be stuck in the queue for a quarter of an hour. Ask the venue where vehicles should stop and whether it has a secondary entrance. Then set the cars to arrive in two or three waves, ideally with the most senior or the most time-pressed guests first. The desk can share the venue's instructions with each local operator so every chauffeur knows the plan.

Security teams and protective details

Where an executive travels with a security team, the chauffeur works with it and follows its instructions on routes and timing. We are a chauffeur service, not a security company, so we do not provide armed drivers or bodyguards. Share the security team's contact with the desk, and agree who decides when a route must change.

Offsites and multi-day programmes

An offsite often moves a group between an airport, a hotel, a restaurant and a venue in a resort or a rural area. Book one coordinated programme, not a series of separate rides: a Sprinter for the group, a sedan or two for principals who need to depart early, and an hourly car held at the hotel for ad hoc errands. The monthly invoice keeps all of it on one statement for the finance team. For large groups, see the Sprinter van with driver page, and for conference-style events the conference transportation page.

How we deliver executive chauffeur service worldwide

The desk is open 24 hours a day. Every ride is delivered by a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur operator from our worldwide directory, and the desk books, confirms and invoices it: one booking, one confirmation, one invoice, one point of contact. Vehicles are late-model, fully maintained and inspected, and no more than four model years old (Maybach, Rolls-Royce and Bentley up to seven). Trips inside the USA use US-licensed operators, and cross-border trips follow local cabotage rules.

Start with the directory or a city page such as New York limo service, London chauffeur service, Dubai chauffeur service or Singapore chauffeur service. For global arrangements see global chauffeur service.
