How do I book a chauffeur service in Dubai?
Enter your pickup, destination, date and vehicle class in the online booker and you see a fixed fare for those exact addresses before you confirm. A vetted, licensed and insured Dubai operator then drives the trip, while our worldwide desk handles confirmation, changes and the invoice, 24 hours a day.
Dubai is a city built for the car. Distances look short on a map and stretch quickly when Sheikh Zayed Road is full. A chauffeur who works these roads daily knows which interchange backs up and which hotel entrance has a separate arrivals ramp.
LimousineWorldwideDirectory.com does not own cars, garages or offices in the United Arab Emirates. We list vetted, licensed and commercially insured Dubai chauffeur operators in our Middle East directory, and our desk books, confirms and invoices every ride. You get one booking, one confirmation, one invoice and one point of contact at any hour.
Chauffeur service, limo service and black car service in Dubai: what you can book
People search for "Dubai chauffeur service", "limo service Dubai" and "black car service Dubai" and usually want one of the same five things.

- Airport transfer. A fixed-fare pickup at Dubai International (DXB) or Al Maktoum (DWC), with flight tracking, and 60 minutes of free waiting after an international landing. See the DXB chauffeur guide.
- Hourly chauffeur. A car and driver at your disposal for a block of hours across DIFC, Business Bay, the malls and an evening out. Read about the hourly chauffeur service.
- City-to-city. Dubai to Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Al Ain or Ras Al Khaimah as one fixed fare, covered in long-distance car service.
- Events and conferences. Coordinated arrivals for exhibitions, roadshows, weddings and race weekends. See event transportation.
- Corporate and private-office accounts. Monthly invoicing, alias bookings and discreet drivers; see corporate car service.
Most vehicles in the UAE are Mercedes-Benz E-Class, S-Class and V-Class, with luxury SUVs and Mercedes-Benz Sprinters for groups. Exact models are confirmed at booking, and Maybach, Rolls-Royce and Bentley are available on request, with availability confirmed at booking. The fleet page lists passenger and luggage capacities.
Which airport should I use for a chauffeur transfer in Dubai?
Most visitors arrive at Dubai International (DXB), about 15 km (9 miles) east of Downtown Dubai, a drive of roughly 15 to 30 minutes. Private aviation, charter and cargo flights use Al Maktoum International at Dubai World Central, about 65 to 70 km (40 to 43 miles) southwest of Downtown.
DXB has three terminals, numbered 1, 2 and 3. Your chauffeur is given your terminal from your flight number and tracks the landing, so the pickup moves if the flight does. The Dubai International airport page is the operator's own source for terminal and airline allocation, which can change between seasons.
| Airport | Distance to Downtown Dubai | Typical drive time | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dubai International (DXB) | 15 km / 9 mi | 15 to 30 minutes | Almost all scheduled arrivals, all three terminals |
| Al Maktoum (DWC) | 65 to 70 km / 40 to 43 mi | 45 to 70 minutes | Private aviation, charter and cargo flights |
| Abu Dhabi Zayed (AUH) | 120 km / 75 mi | 1 hour 15 to 1 hour 40 | Arrivals who then continue to Dubai by road |
Private jets are handled at Dubai World Central; read the Dubai DWC car service and FBO guide if you fly your own aircraft or charter. See also airport car service and meet and greet service, which adds a name board inside arrivals.
Where in Dubai are you going? A district guide
Dubai is a string of districts along the coast and the creek, and the drive between two of them can take longer than the flight to get there. Here is how we think about the main ones.
- Downtown Dubai and Business Bay. The Burj Khalifa, The Dubai Mall and the Dubai Fountain sit on one side of Sheikh Zayed Road; the Business Bay towers and canal on the other. Ask for the hotel entrance, not just the building name.
- DIFC. The financial center, about 5 km (3 miles) from Downtown. Law firms, banks and galleries; short hops, tight drop-off areas, and parking lots that fill by mid-morning.
- Dubai Marina, JBR and the Palm Jumeirah. About 35 to 40 km (22 to 25 miles) from DXB and the busiest leisure corridor in the evening.
- Deira, Bur Dubai and Al Fahidi. The creek, the souks and the heritage quarter, where streets narrow and parking is limited.
Tell the desk the exact tower, hotel or villa. Several towers share names with neighbors, and the wrong one in Business Bay costs time on internal roads.
What should I know about Dubai roads, Salik tolls and traffic?

Dubai's main roads carry Salik, an electronic toll: each crossing of a gate on routes such as Sheikh Zayed Road is charged to a tag in the car. A chauffeur car carries the tag. The worst traffic is weekday mornings, evenings from about 5 to 8, and Thursday nights toward the Marina and Downtown.
Your driver passes through the gates without stopping, and the cost is covered by the fixed fare quoted at booking. The Roads and Transport Authority publishes the rules at rta.ae.
Two habits save time. Leave early on Thursday, the busiest night of the week for restaurants. And allow ten minutes at big venues: Dubai Mall, Dubai Opera and the larger hotels can have queues at the valet ramp on busy nights.
Weekends, Fridays, Ramadan and dress: practical etiquette
The UAE's working week for most federal bodies and many companies runs Monday to Friday, with the weekend on Saturday and Sunday and a shorter Friday that allows time for midday prayers. Private businesses vary, so ask which days your contact's office observes before fixing a meeting.
Dress is relaxed by international standards but respectful. Hotels, beaches and private clubs have their own norms; in shopping malls, government offices and any mosque, shoulders and knees should be covered. Visit Dubai publishes visitor guidance and an essentials section on etiquette that is worth reading before a first trip.
During Ramadan, which is expected in February and March 2027 with exact dates set by moon sighting, daytime life slows. Eating, drinking and smoking in public in daylight hours is discouraged; hotels and many malls provide screened areas. Office hours shorten and the city is busy after sunset. Plan important meetings in the morning, and expect crowded roads near malls and mosques around the iftar meal. Eid holidays bring heavy airport traffic in both directions.
Alcohol is available in licensed hotels and venues only, and the UAE has zero tolerance for drinking and driving. That alone is a good reason to hire a chauffeur for a dinner. We never promise drinks on board, and local law applies to every vehicle.
Hotels, venues and the Dubai Mall: how drop-offs work
Hotels along Sheikh Zayed Road, the Marina and the Palm have separate arrivals ramps, and larger resorts run their own security checks at the gate. If you are meeting a guest, give the desk their name; the chauffeur can wait at the lobby entrance, and an alias on the name board is available for privacy.
At The Dubai Mall, there are designated drop-off points and valet areas, and the roads around Downtown are closed or reduced on big event nights, including New Year's Eve. Read the Dubai Mall and Dubai Fountain guide for the practical details of where cars can stop. At the Burj Al Arab, the road to the island is gated: entry is for hotel guests and confirmed restaurant or spa reservations, so book through the hotel and pass the booking name to the desk.
For private clients in villas on the Palm or in Emirates Hills, we can assign the same driver for the whole stay. See HNWI and family-office chauffeur and VIP and celebrity chauffeur for how we handle discretion and alias bookings. Our chauffeurs are not bodyguards and do not carry weapons; we work alongside your own security team if you travel with one.
The best of Dubai by chauffeur: attraction guides
Each of these has its own visitor guide with drop-off points, timing and an itinerary.

- Burj Khalifa: the observation decks are entered through The Dubai Mall, so plan the car around the mall's drop-off zones and the timed slot you book.
- The Dubai Mall and Dubai Fountain: a half-day of shopping, with the fountain show in the evening.
- Palm Jumeirah: the trunk, the crescent and the Atlantis end, about 40 km (25 miles) from DXB.
- Burj Al Arab: access by reservation only, so the booking name matters.
- Museum of the Future: on Sheikh Zayed Road, ticketed by time slot.
- Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood: the old quarter on the creek, best on foot after your car drops you at the edge.
- Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve: about 60 km (37 miles) from the city, a drive of roughly 50 to 60 minutes.
Combine two or three into a day on a single booking; see private tours with driver, and browse the attractions directory for more.
Events, exhibitions and the corporate calendar
Dubai hosts exhibitions through the fall and winter, centered on Dubai World Trade Centre, Dubai Harbour and Expo City. GITEX Global is the largest technology show; it is usually held in the fall, and organizers publish dates well ahead. On exhibition days the roads around Trade Centre and Sheikh Zayed Road slow noticeably, so we recommend fixed pickup times that leave a margin for the security queue at the venue. See conference transportation and the conferences hub.
Race weekends at Yas Island draw many Dubai-based guests. The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix guide explains the traffic flow; the run from Dubai to Yas is about 120 km (75 miles) and takes 1 hour 30 minutes or more on the day. The full events hub lists the others.
Cruise terminals, rail and the Metro
Dubai receives cruise ships mainly in the cooler months, roughly October to April, at Port Rashid in the old town and at the Dubai Harbour terminal near the Marina and Palm. Which terminal your ship uses is set by the cruise line, so confirm it from your booking documents. From either, a chauffeur car reaches Downtown in 20 to 40 minutes depending on traffic. See cruise transfers and the cruise ports hub.
There is no long-distance passenger train connecting Dubai to other cities that replaces a road transfer, so city-to-city travel is by car. Within Dubai, the Metro (Red and Green lines) and the Tram serve the main corridors; the Red Line stops at DXB Terminals 1 and 3. For rail and station transfers elsewhere, see train station transfers.
Beyond the city: long-distance chauffeur runs
All times below are typical for the road in good conditions; the booker quotes a fixed fare for your exact addresses.
| Route | Distance | Typical drive time | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dubai to Abu Dhabi city | 140 km / 87 mi | 1 hour 30 to 1 hour 50 | Sheikh Zayed Road E11; speed enforced by cameras |
| Dubai to Yas Island | 120 km / 75 mi | 1 hour 10 to 1 hour 40 | Race weekends need an early start |
| Dubai to Al Ain | 140 km / 87 mi | 1 hour 30 | Oases and Jebel Hafeet |
| Dubai to Jebel Jais, Ras Al Khaimah | 130 km / 81 mi | 1 hour 30 to 1 hour 45 | Mountain road; see the Jebel Jais guide |
Cross-border trips follow local rules, so tell the desk early if you plan to continue into Oman. Nearby capitals are covered on the Abu Dhabi chauffeur service and Doha chauffeur service pages.
Metro, taxi, rideshare or chauffeur: an honest comparison
The cheapest option is not always the wrong one. Here is how the choices compare for a typical airport-to-hotel trip.
| Option | Typical time from DXB to Downtown | Cost note | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dubai Metro | 25 to 40 minutes plus walk | Lowest | Light luggage, a hotel near a station, no fixed schedule |
| Taxi | 15 to 30 minutes | Metered | Spontaneous trips, a short queue |
| Rideshare | 15 to 30 minutes | Surge-priced at peak | Solo travelers who book on a phone |
| Rental car | 15 to 30 minutes | Daily rate plus Salik and parking | Drivers who know the roads and want to stay several days |
| Private chauffeur | 15 to 30 minutes | Fixed fare via the booker | Groups, late arrivals, VIPs, meetings on arrival |
If you travel alone with a cabin bag and your hotel is next to a Metro station, take the Metro. A chauffeur earns its place when you arrive late, carry luggage, travel with family or colleagues, or need a fixed pickup. See why book with us.
Corporate accounts, travel trade and hotel concierges
Companies with regular Dubai travel can open a corporate account with monthly invoicing and alias bookings. Travel agents, DMCs, hotel concierges and tourist offices can open a trade account; see travel trade and hotel concierge bookings. Official tourist offices, tourism boards and visitor bureaus can book chauffeur services for their visitors with LimousineWorldwideDirectory.com through a trade account; browse the tourist offices directory for the Middle East and Africa. Chauffeurs do not photograph clients or post about trips, and NDAs are signed on request.
Frequently asked questions
How far is Dubai Airport from Downtown Dubai?
DXB is about 15 km (9 miles) from Downtown Dubai and the Burj Khalifa. In light traffic the drive takes 15 to 20 minutes, and in rush hour 30 minutes or more. The Marina and the Palm are farther, around 35 to 40 km (22 to 25 miles).
How much does a chauffeur in Dubai cost?
We do not publish rates. The online booker shows a fixed fare for your exact pickup, destination, date and vehicle class before you confirm, so the price you see is the price you pay for that trip.
Are there tolls on Dubai roads, and who pays them?
Dubai's Salik tolls are collected electronically from a tag in the car. Your operator passes through the gates on your planned route and the cost is part of the fixed fare quoted at booking.
What days is the weekend in Dubai?
Most federal government offices and many companies work Monday to Friday, with Friday shorter, and take Saturday and Sunday off. Private businesses vary, so confirm the days with the people you are meeting.
Can my chauffeur wait while I attend a meeting or dinner?
Yes. On an hourly booking the chauffeur stays with the car. On a pickup, we include 15 minutes of waiting, and on international airport arrivals 60 minutes after landing. Longer waits can be added to the booking.
Is it better to take the Metro or a chauffeur from DXB?
If you travel light and your hotel is near a station, the Metro is the lowest-cost option. A chauffeur is better with luggage, late arrivals, groups, or when you need a guaranteed pickup time and a driver who meets you in arrivals.
What is the cancellation policy?
More than 72 hours' notice: no charge. 72 hours or less: 10%. 48 hours or less: 50%. 24 hours or less, or a no-show: 100%, measured from the scheduled pickup time. Large events may carry a different deadline, stated on your confirmation.
Can you provide child seats?
Yes. Child, toddler and booster seats are available on request at booking.
Can I book a Dubai chauffeur for a day trip to Abu Dhabi?
Yes. Dubai to Abu Dhabi is about 140 km (87 miles) and takes roughly 1 hour 30 to 1 hour 50 each way. Book as a city-to-city transfer or an all-day hire, and see the Abu Dhabi chauffeur service page for sights worth combining.
