London St Pancras International car service: where the car actually goes
St Pancras is easy to find and awkward to drive to. The station sits on the Euston Road at postcode N1C 4QP, and its official pick-up and drop-off point is on Pancras Road, reached from the Euston Road. Network Rail High Speed, which runs the station, is clear that the space is limited and that vehicles cannot wait at the drop-off and pick-up points. A driver who arrives without a plan circles the block; a driver who knows the approach is gone in a minute and you are inside.
LimousineWorldwideDirectory.com books a London St Pancras International car service with a local chauffeur operator from our directory, for Eurostar departures and arrivals and for domestic trains. Our 24/7 booking desk is open around the clock, worldwide. Every ride is delivered by a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur operator, and is booked, confirmed and invoiced by our desk: one booking, one confirmation, one invoice, one point of contact.
If your trip begins or ends at a London airport, our Heathrow chauffeur service page covers the other end of the journey. For the wider service see train station transfers and the train station directory.
Which side of St Pancras do you need?

For Eurostar departures, the drop-off is on Pancras Road, which leads toward the Eurostar departure side of the station. Taxis pick up from a separate rank on Midland Road. Private cars cannot wait at either point, so a chauffeur sets you down and leaves, and meets you at an agreed spot on the way back.
The station's published guidance gives the layout. Eurostar uses platforms 5 to 10, East Midlands Railway platforms 1 to 4, Thameslink platforms A and B, and Southeastern the high-speed platforms 11 to 13. The St Pancras station guide from Network Rail lists the Pancras Road pick-up and drop-off, the Midland Road accessible taxi rank, and the King's Cross St Pancras Underground station, served by six lines.
Pancras Road is one-way and reachable only from the Euston Road. The station's help page describes parking bays on Pancras Road and warns that vehicles should not be left unattended. Our drivers do not leave the car.
Eurostar departures from St Pancras
A Eurostar journey starts with check-in, security and border control before you reach the platform, so the margin you leave at the curb matters. Eurostar publishes its own guidance on when to arrive, and the recommended time has been revised more than once as border processes changed. Follow the time printed on your ticket, not a rule of thumb you read last year.
The EU's Entry/Exit System became fully operational on 10 April 2026, according to the European Commission: it replaces passport stamps with digital records and captures a facial image and fingerprints from eligible non-EU travelers. The Commission's materials say another system, ETIAS, is planned for later in 2026; check the official pages for its status, as we do not assume a start date. If you are traveling from London to Paris, Brussels or Amsterdam on a non-EU passport, expect the Eurostar processes to take longer than a domestic train.
For travelers coming to London from the continent, UK passport checks happen before boarding at the departure station, so arrival at St Pancras is typically quicker. Many visitors still need an electronic travel authorisation (ETA) for the UK: the government's ETA page lists who must apply and how.
How a chauffeur handles a St Pancras pickup
On an arrival, the sequence is simple and works well for Eurostar passengers carrying luggage:
- You send your train number. The driver watches the service, not a clock.
- The driver is at the agreed meeting point when you come out of the arrival area. A name-board meet-and-greet is available as an add-on, with an alias on the board if you prefer privacy.
- The bags go to the car. Luggage handling is part of the service.
- The car leaves the area without queuing for a taxi.
Free waiting on other pickups, including stations, is 15 minutes, and rail delays are handled by the desk. Tell us the platform if you know it and any accessibility needs. St Pancras is rated step-free to all platforms, and staff in light blue vests assist passengers who need it.
Where to go from St Pancras: distances and times
Central London is compact but slow. Times below are typical ranges in normal daytime traffic; evening rush hours and wet weather add to them.

| Destination | Distance | Typical drive |
|---|---|---|
| Heathrow (LHR) | about 26 km (16 mi) | 45 to 75 minutes |
| London City Airport (LCY) | about 15 km (9 mi) | 30 to 50 minutes |
| Gatwick (LGW) | about 48 km (30 mi) | 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes |
| Luton (LTN) | about 55 km (34 mi) | 50 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes |
| Farnborough (FAB), private aviation | about 70 km (44 mi) | 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes |
| Mayfair | about 5 km (3 mi) | 20 to 35 minutes |
| Canary Wharf | about 12 km (7.5 mi) | 30 to 50 minutes |
These are approximate road distances. For the airport itself, see Heathrow; for private jets via Farnborough, see our Farnborough page. Our broader London chauffeur service page covers hotels and the City.
Compare ways to leave St Pancras
Black cabs, the Underground and the train are all legitimate choices. The Underground is hard to beat for a light traveler going across London at rush hour.
| Option | Typical time | Cost note | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Underground from King's Cross St Pancras | varies by line and destination | lowest | One bag, travelers who know the network |
| Thameslink to Gatwick or Luton | direct services from the station | low | Airport trips with light luggage |
| Black cab from the Midland Road rank | depends on destination and traffic | metered | Short trips, no booking |
| Ride-hailing | depends on destination and traffic | surge-priced at peak | Single travelers who prefer an app |
| Private chauffeur | depends on destination and traffic | fixed fare via the booker | Families, heavy luggage, early Eurostar, airport connections |
The Piccadilly line serves Heathrow from King's Cross St Pancras and is the lowest-cost route; with two large suitcases and a connection to make, a car is easier.
London's traffic rules, handled for you
London's Ultra Low Emission Zone covers all London boroughs, runs 24 hours a day and applies every day of the year except Christmas Day, per Transport for London. The central Congestion Charge is a separate scheme with different hours. The local chauffeur operators in our directory run late-model, fully maintained vehicles, no more than 4 model years old (Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach up to 7), and the operator handles zone compliance. Details are on the TfL ULEZ page. You do not need to check a vehicle plate.
A London day built around the station
St Pancras is a good place to start a chauffeured day. The British Museum is about 1.6 km (1 mile) away; Westminster and Buckingham Palace are around 6 km (3.7 miles); the Tower of London is about 7 km (4.3 miles).

- The British Museum guide covers timing and entrances.
- The Tower of London guide covers timed entry and set-down points.
- The Warner Bros. Studio Tour guide is for a longer excursion north-west of London.
Licensed guides, where a site recommends them, are separate professionals. A chauffeur drives, can suggest stops and keeps the car where you need it. A private tour with driver can be booked by the hour or the day.
Domestic trains, King's Cross next door and common mix-ups
St Pancras is not only Eurostar. Per the station guide, East Midlands Railway runs services to the East Midlands from platforms 1 to 4, Southeastern runs the high-speed domestic trains to Kent from platforms 11 to 13, and Thameslink runs between Bedford, Luton and Brighton, including Luton and Gatwick airports. The pickup point for a domestic arrival is the same Pancras Road bay system, but the walk from the platform differs, so tell the desk your operator and not only the station name.
Three mix-ups happen often enough to be worth naming:
- King's Cross is a separate station next door. Trains to Edinburgh and the north-east arrive there, not at St Pancras. Check your ticket before you give an address.
- Euston is further west along the Euston Road. A hotel booking that says "Euston Road" can be at either end.
- Ticket-hall meeting points are not car pickup points. Meet the driver where the booking says, not in the nearest coffee shop.
If you have time to spare before a departure, left luggage is available at the Excess Baggage Co. in The Circle area on the ground floor, per the station's FAQ. A chauffeur can also deliver bags to your hotel while you travel light.
Choosing the right vehicle
Classes are "or similar", with the exact model confirmed at booking. In London we specify Mercedes-Benz models.
- Executive Sedan: Mercedes-Benz E-Class or similar, up to 3 passengers, 2 large and 2 cabin bags.
- First Class Sedan: Mercedes-Benz S-Class or similar, up to 3 passengers, 2 large and 2 cabin bags.
- Luxury SUV or Mercedes-Benz V-Class: up to 6 passengers and 5 to 6 large bags.
- Executive Sprinter: up to 12 to 14 passengers and 12 bags, ideal for a group arriving off the same train.
- Mini-coach, coach and stretch limousine: on request.
Child, toddler and booster seats are available on request at booking. Water and phone chargers are in most vehicles. Maybach, Rolls-Royce and Bentley are available on request, with availability confirmed at booking. See the fleet.
Corporate accounts, delegations and discretion
Eurostar is the standard route for business between London, Paris and Brussels. Corporate accounts with monthly invoicing keep those trips on one statement, and trade accounts are available for travel agents, DMCs and hotel concierges. Official tourist offices, tourism boards and visitor centres can book chauffeur services for their visitors with LimousineWorldwideDirectory.com through a trade account.
Chauffeurs do not photograph clients or post about trips. NDAs are signed on request, and alias bookings are accepted. We are a chauffeur service, not a security company, so we do not supply armed drivers or bodyguards and we work alongside a client's own security team. Browse the Europe directory.
Cancellation terms are fixed: more than 72 hours' notice, no charge; 72 hours or less, 10%; 48 hours or less, 50%; 24 hours or less or a no-show, 100%, measured from the scheduled pickup time.
Frequently asked questions
Where do cars drop off at St Pancras for Eurostar?
The station's official pick-up and drop-off point is on Pancras Road, which is reached from the Euston Road and leads toward the Eurostar departure side. Vehicles cannot wait there, so your driver sets you down and leaves.
Where is the taxi rank at St Pancras?
There is an accessible taxi rank at the side of the station on Midland Road, which is a designated TfL taxi rank. Follow the signs inside the station.
How far is St Pancras from Heathrow?
About 26 km (16 mi), typically 45 to 75 minutes by car depending on traffic. Gatwick is about 48 km (30 mi), usually 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes.
How early should I arrive for a Eurostar?
Follow the arrival time printed on your ticket or in Eurostar's current guidance. Border processes, including the EU's Entry/Exit System, have changed the recommended time more than once.
Do I need an ETA to visit the UK by Eurostar?
Many visitors do. The government's ETA page sets out who needs one. Check it before you travel, because boarding can be refused without the right authorization.
Can my driver meet me inside the station?
A name-board meet-and-greet is available as an add-on, and the driver otherwise waits at the agreed meeting point. Tell the desk your train number and any assistance needs.
Is there car parking at St Pancras?
Yes. The station car park has more than 300 spaces, per the Network Rail guide. A chauffeur transfer avoids the need to park.
Is St Pancras accessible?
Yes. Network Rail classes it as step-free to all platforms, and staff provide assistance on request. Tell us at booking if you need a wheelchair-accessible vehicle.
How do I get a fare?
Use the online booker. It shows the exact fixed fare for your addresses and vehicle before you confirm.
