A show for the people who organize transport
IMEX Frankfurt is a trade show for the meetings and events industry, so its audience knows what bad ground transport looks like because they spend their year preventing it. Hosted buyers, planners and suppliers arrive within a narrow window, spend three days in hall appointments and dinners, and leave in the same wave. A good IMEX Frankfurt car service gives them what they would design for a client: a named driver, a confirmed pickup time and a single invoice.
Our desk, works 24/7 on behalf of LimousineWorldwideDirectory.com. Rides are carried out by vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur operators drawn from our worldwide directory, and the desk books, confirms and invoices each one. One booking, one confirmation, one invoice and one point of contact, which suits a company bringing a team of three or a bureau bringing a delegation of twenty.
How far is Messe Frankfurt from Frankfurt Airport?

Messe Frankfurt is about 12 km (7.5 mi) from Frankfurt Airport, and the fairground's own travel page puts the journey at about 15 minutes by car or taxi. A chauffeur meets you in arrivals, tracks the flight and drops you at the entrance nearest your hall.
That is among the shortest airport-to-fairground distances of any show in this directory. The risk is not the distance but the timing: rush-hour on the A5 and the Messe approaches on the first morning can double the journey. Our desk quotes the buffer when you book.
IMEX Frankfurt 2027: dates and venue
The official IMEX show information page lists IMEX Frankfurt 2027 with a free day of specialist education on Monday 10 May 2027, and the trade show on Tuesday 11 to Thursday 13 May 2027 at Messe Frankfurt, Ludwig-Erhard-Anlage 1, 60327 Frankfurt. The IMEX sign-in page shows a wider window of 11 to 17 May, which appears to cover surrounding activity, so confirm what applies to you. Opening hours are published on the organizer's site and are not repeated here.
The education day matters for transport because it adds an arrival wave on the Sunday evening and Monday morning, before the exhibition proper opens.
Terminal 1 or Terminal 3: which door to expect
Frankfurt Airport has changed its terminal layout. The airport's own site says airlines formerly in Terminal 2 are now in the new Terminal 3, and Terminal 1 remains in use, as the Frankfurt Airport website shows. For a delegate, the practical point is that older guides which mention Terminal 2 are out of date. Give the desk your flight number, and the chauffeur operator confirms the building and the meeting point before you land.
Frankfurt Airport, the city and the grounds: distances

| Route to Messe Frankfurt | Distance | Typical drive time |
|---|---|---|
| Frankfurt Airport (FRA), Terminal 1 or 3 | about 12 km (7.5 mi) | 15 to 35 minutes |
| Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof | about 2 km (1.2 mi) | 5 to 15 minutes |
| Römer and old town | about 3 km (2 mi) | 10 to 20 minutes |
| Westend and Bockenheim hotels | about 1 to 3 km (0.6 to 2 mi) | 5 to 15 minutes |
| Sachsenhausen | about 3 km (2 mi) | 10 to 20 minutes |
| Heidelberg | about 90 km (56 mi) | 1 h to 1 h 30 |
| Rüdesheim and the Rhine Gorge | about 60 km (37 mi) | 50 to 75 minutes |
The grounds are close to the Hauptbahnhof and the Westend, so for anyone staying centrally, the walking distance is often shorter than the time it takes to find a vehicle. The arrival-side detail is on the Frankfurt Airport chauffeur page, and the wider city guide is the Frankfurt chauffeur service page.
The five entrances and where a taxi or chauffeur stops
Messe Frankfurt's arrival page lists the main entrances: City Entrance/Festhalle, Galleria, Portalhaus, Congress Center and Kap Europa, plus gates numbered and named by compass point. It says taxis can go directly to any of the entrances, and it does not designate a single preferred taxi entrance. In practice the right drop-off is the one nearest your hall, so give the desk your hall number or the name of the stand you are visiting.
For a chauffeur, the useful questions are simple. Which entrance opens first on the Tuesday, and which hall does your first appointment sit in? Where does the vehicle wait for the return? What happens if the first plan is blocked? The operator has dealt with the grounds for other shows and answers these before the day, and the desk passes the details to you.
Rail, taxi and chauffeur: how they compare
The fairground is well served by rail, and the organizer's page describes the options in detail: a walk of about ten minutes from the Hauptbahnhof; U-Bahn line 4 one stop to Festhalle/Messe; S-Bahn lines S3, S4, S5 or S6 to Frankfurt (Main) Messe, the second stop from the Hauptbahnhof; and trams 16 and 17.
| Option | From the Hauptbahnhof or airport | Cost note | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Walk from the Hauptbahnhof | About 10 minutes | Free | Hotel guests near the station |
| U-Bahn 4 to Festhalle/Messe | One stop from the Hauptbahnhof | Lowest; event tickets with the RMV symbol include travel | Anyone staying in the center |
| S-Bahn from the airport via the Hauptbahnhof | About 25 to 40 minutes with a change | Lowest | Light travelers, flexible timing |
| Taxi | About 15 to 35 minutes from the airport | Metered | Single travelers, short trips |
| Pre-booked chauffeur | About 15 to 35 minutes from the airport | Fixed fare via the booker | Groups, buyers with luggage, tight schedules, late arrivals |
Rail wins on a short hop from a central hotel, and the organizer's page confirms event tickets with the RMV symbol include free travel on the RMV network. A chauffeur wins on the airport leg when you have luggage, on any trip after a long dinner, and for guests who should not be left to find their own way. The honest approach for many delegations is to use the U-Bahn between hotel and hall and book cars for the airport and evenings.
Low-emission zone: for rental cars
Frankfurt has a low-emission zone covering the area between the A5, A3 and A661 motorways, and vehicles need the required environmental sticker. The Messe page also notes that vehicles without a sticker may still reach the West or Nord gates via the A5 and the Rebstock exit. For delegations arriving by rented van, the Rebstock multi-storey car park offers a shuttle to the grounds during large events, according to the organizer. For the chauffeur vehicles, compliance is the operator's responsibility and you do not need to arrange anything.

Group transport for planners and hosted buyers
Planners tend to need three kinds of transport, and the desk handles each.
- Arrival waves. Flight tracking is included on every airport pickup, with 60 minutes of free waiting after landing on international arrivals and 30 minutes on domestic arrivals. Several arrivals can be combined into one Executive Sprinter (Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, up to 12 to 14 passengers and 12 bags) or split across First Class Sedans (Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series or similar).
- Hotel to hall loops. A fixed number of cars or a coach for the period of the show. The mini-coach and coach are available on request.
- Evening venues. Dinners are often held in venues that are not on a rail line, and a pre-booked vehicle outside after the main course avoids the late-night taxi shortage.
If a company is moving a full delegation, an event transportation plan and a corporate car service account allow one monthly invoice. Executives can add a name-board meet-and-greet inside arrivals, with an alias on request. The meet and greet service page has the detail.
Vehicles
Mercedes-Benz E-Class (Executive Sedan) and S-Class (First Class Sedan) take up to 3 passengers with 2 large and 2 cabin bags. A V-Class or Luxury SUV suits a team of up to 6 with 5 to 6 large bags. A Mercedes-Benz Sprinter carries 12 to 14 with 12 bags. All classes are "or similar", the exact model is confirmed at booking, and vehicles are late-model, fully maintained and inspected. Maybach, Rolls-Royce and Bentley are available on request, with availability confirmed at booking. Most vehicles carry water and phone chargers; child, toddler and booster seats are added at booking on request. See the fleet page.
A sample day for a hosted buyer
Monday. Arrival at 9:30 on a flight from London. The chauffeur waits inside arrivals with a name board, the bags go into a First Class Sedan, and the drive to a hotel in the Westend is about 12 km (7.5 mi), 20 to 30 minutes. Afternoon education session at the Messe.
Tuesday. A walk or U-Bahn to the hall for morning appointments, then a car for a lunch at a venue across the river, about 3 km (2 mi). In the evening, a reception in the old town and a return to the hotel.
Wednesday. A half-day site visit outside the city, for example to the Rhine Gorge or Heidelberg. The Rhine Gorge guide and Heidelberg Castle guide cover the logistics. Return in time for a closing reception.
Thursday. Airport run with a fixed pickup time, leaving 3 hours before an international departure.
Discretion, accounts and security
No photographs and no posts about clients' trips: chauffeurs follow that rule, and NDAs and alias bookings are available. Trade accounts are available for travel agents, DMCs and hotel concierges, and corporate accounts invoice monthly. We are a chauffeur service, not a security company: no armed drivers, no bodyguards. A client's own security staff are welcome to coordinate with the chauffeur.
Planning checklist and cancellation terms
- Book the Sunday evening and Monday morning arrivals first.
- Tell the desk your hotel and the hall you visit first each day.
- Give flight numbers for tracking.
- Add seats and a meet-and-greet if needed.
- Plan Thursday departures early.
Cancellation: more than 72 hours' notice is free of charge; 72 hours or less carries 10%; 48 hours or less 50%; 24 hours or less or a no-show 100%, measured from the scheduled pickup time. Large events may carry a different deadline, which is stated on your confirmation.

About 12 km (7.5 mi). The Messe's own page says about 15 minutes by car or taxi. A chauffeur adds a buffer for rush-hour traffic on the first morning.
Which entrance should my chauffeur use?
It depends on your hall. The main entrances are City Entrance/Festhalle, Galleria, Portalhaus, Congress Center and Kap Europa. Tell the desk your hall or stand and the operator selects the nearest.

No. The desk supplies chauffeurs, not security personnel: no armed drivers, no bodyguards.
What does it cost?
There is no meter. The booker calculates a fixed fare from your pickup, drop-off, vehicle class and time, and shows it before you confirm.
