Which terminal should a Frankfurt airport chauffeur meet you at today?

Frankfurt Airport now works from Terminal 1 and the new Terminal 3, and its own site says the airlines from Terminal 2 are now located in Terminal 3. Give your flight number in the booker; the chauffeur confirms the building and meeting point before you land.

Frankfurt Airport (FRA) is Germany's biggest hub, set about 12 km (7.5 mi) south-west of the city's skyline, directly between the Autobahn network and the rail lines to the Rhine and the south. For executives flying in for a trade fair, bankers heading to the Taunusanlage towers or travelers continuing to the Rhine valley, a pre-booked chauffeur is the practical option when a taxi queue is long and the schedule is tight. LimousineWorldwideDirectory.com runs a 24/7 desk. It books, confirms and invoices every Frankfurt ride, while a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur operator from our worldwide directory delivers it in a late-model Mercedes-Benz or similar.

Terminal 1 and the new Terminal 3

For years, Frankfurt operated Terminals 1 and 2. Fraport, the airport operator, announced that Terminal 3 would officially begin operations on 23 April 2026 with capacity for up to 19 million passengers a year, and the airport's site now states that airlines from Terminal 2 are located in the new Terminal 3. The Terminal 3 section of the site lists its own bus station, rental cars, onward train information and tips for pick-up customers. Terminal 1 remains the largest building, with its own long-distance and regional train stations.

Because airlines can move between buildings, we do not assume. Your flight number goes into the booker, and the chauffeur confirms the terminal at dispatch. For current plans, see Frankfurt Airport's own pages at frankfurt-airport.com and Fraport's corporate site.

Passport control and the EES

For non-EU visitors, Germany's arrival hall is part of the Schengen external border, and the Entry/Exit System applies. The European Commission states that the EES became fully operational on 10 April 2026. Short-stay non-EU travelers register their name, travel document, fingerprints and facial image at the border, and the system replaces stamping. On the first trip, the registration step can add minutes. See the EU Entry/Exit System page for official details. If you connect in another Schengen airport, you pass the border there.

Our waiting policy is built for this: 60 minutes free after an international landing and 30 minutes after a domestic or intra-German landing, counted from the landing time that flight tracking shows.

How a Frankfurt pickup works

  1. Book in the online booker with your flight number, passengers and the destination address.
  2. The desk confirms and assigns a licensed operator. One booking, one confirmation, one invoice.
  3. The chauffeur follows your flight and adjusts the pickup for early or late landings.
  4. For a name board in the arrivals hall, add the meet-and-greet service, with an alias if you prefer privacy.
  5. The chauffeur or greeter takes you to the car, loads the bags and drives to your address.

Water and phone chargers are in most vehicles. Child, toddler and booster seats are available on request at booking.

The A3, A5 and A66 meet around Frankfurt, and the Frankfurter Kreuz and the Westkreuz are among Germany's busiest junctions. Weekday mornings and Friday afternoons are heavy, and roadworks are a constant. German Autobahns have stretches without a general speed limit, but congestion makes that irrelevant around the airport. Many German cities, Frankfurt among them, run environmental zones where a sticker is required; a local operator holds the right sticker for the vehicle.

Frankfurt is one of the easiest airports in Europe to leave by train, and Frankfurt Airport's site stresses its onward train connections. If you travel alone and your hotel is near the Hauptbahnhof, the S-Bahn is the sensible, lowest-cost option. The picture changes during a major fair, when hotels near the fairgrounds are scarce and the S-Bahn is packed, and when you are going to Wiesbaden, the Taunus or a business park not on a rail line. Onward-journey details are on the airport's site.

Fair week and conference traffic

Messe Frankfurt, one of the world's largest trade-fair grounds, sits only 12 km (7.5 mi) from the airport. When a large fair opens, hotel prices rise, taxi queues lengthen and arrival days blur together. Booking early, giving the exact hall or hotel and confirming the return leg are the keys. The IMEX Frankfurt conference page covers that event, usually held in May, and our conference transportation service handles delegation logistics. Corporate accounts offer monthly invoicing, and trade accounts exist for travel agents and DMCs.

Reserve your chauffeur

A day on the Rhine and in the castles

Frankfurt is the best base in Germany for a first look at the Rhine. A full day with one driver can take you from the airport to Rüdesheim, along the Middle Rhine to the Loreley and back through the vineyards. Read the Rhine Gorge guide for viewpoints, ferries and timing. Heidelberg Castle is a 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minute drive away and much of the old town is pedestrianized, so your chauffeur sets you down at the nearest sensible point and returns. Farther afield, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, the Black Forest and Cologne Cathedral are all full-day outings. The private tours with driver page explains how a day is built.

Layovers and long gaps between flights

Frankfurt is a hub, so some travelers have several hours between an arrival and an onward flight. If you are not leaving the Schengen area, and your bags are checked through, a short city loop is possible. A typical outing is the Römerberg square, the Main riverfront and a coffee near the cathedral, then straight back to the airport with a margin for security. Be careful with the arithmetic. Allow the full passport and security process on the return, remember that terminal changes can add time, and never plan a layover outing that leaves less than a comfortable buffer. An hourly booking with a fixed end time is easier to control than an open-ended one; see the hourly chauffeur service.

The morning-arrival plan for Frankfurt's financial district

Many guests land at Frankfurt on an overnight flight from North America or a first flight from Asia and Europe, and expect to be at a desk or in a meeting within a couple of hours. The airport sits close enough to the city that this is realistic, provided the plan accounts for the places where mornings go wrong.

Where the time goes

Take a typical arrival and subtract the steps in order: landing and taxi, the walk to border control, the Entry/Exit System registration for first-time non-EU visitors, baggage claim, the walk to the pickup point, the drive and the hotel or office. A chauffeur who tracks the flight absorbs the variable part, which is the time from landing to the car, and the 60-minute free waiting window is designed for exactly that.

Hotel or office first?

Rooms in the city rarely open before the afternoon, so an arrival at dawn leaves the guest with a choice. The first option is the hotel, to leave bags and freshen up. Ask the hotel in advance about early access. The second is the office or the meeting venue, with the bags in the car. A chauffeur can hold the luggage while the guest is in a meeting, and an hourly booking keeps the car with the guest through the day. Decide before landing and tell the desk, because the drop-off address determines the vehicle and the route.

The financial district and its streets

Frankfurt's banks and law firms are concentrated in the central business district, not far from the Hauptbahnhof and the Taunusanlage. Streets there are often one-way, and construction is frequent. Give the desk the building name and the entrance, and a contact who can meet the guest at the door.

Fair mornings

On the opening day of a large trade fair, the road between the airport and the Messe is busy and hotel lobbies fill. If you are attending, the better plan is usually to send bags to the hotel with the chauffeur and go straight to the fairgrounds, or the reverse, depending on where your first appointment sits. The conference transportation page explains how delegation bookings are structured.

Bankers and consultants often fly in and out within a day; give the desk the departing flight number up front, and the corporate car service page explains monthly invoicing for teams that do this regularly.

Book a driver for the day

Driving in Germany: what a local chauffeur manages for you

Germany's roads run on discipline. The left lane of the Autobahn is for passing only, speed differences can be large, and a sudden stop is dangerous. Chauffeurs on the directory drive these roads daily and plan around known bottlenecks: the approach to the Frankfurter Kreuz, the Wiesbaden Kreuz and the A66 into the city. In winter, ice and fog can slow the roads around the Taunus hills and the Rhine valley, and the driver may leave earlier or choose a main route over a scenic one. On Sundays and public holidays, heavy goods vehicles are restricted, so highways are quieter than on weekdays, though leisure traffic returns on sunny afternoons.

Business, finance and discretion

Frankfurt is a financial capital, home to the European Central Bank and numerous banks. Executives often arrive on a morning flight and want to go straight to a meeting. Our chauffeurs do not photograph clients or post about trips, NDAs are signed on request and alias bookings are available. Corporate accounts allow monthly invoicing with one contact. We are a chauffeur service, not a security company, so we do not supply armed drivers or bodyguards; we work alongside a principal's own security. The Frankfurt chauffeur service page covers city work.

Vehicle classes

  • Executive Sedan (Mercedes-Benz E-Class or similar): up to 3 passengers, 2 large and 2 cabin bags.
  • First Class Sedan (Mercedes-Benz S-Class or similar): up to 3 passengers, 2 large and 2 cabin bags.
  • Mercedes-Benz V-Class or Luxury SUV: up to 6 passengers, 5 to 6 large bags.
  • Executive Sprinter (Mercedes-Benz Sprinter): up to 12 to 14 passengers, 12 bags.

Stretch limousines, mini-coaches and coaches are available on request. Maybach, Rolls-Royce and Bentley are available on request, with availability confirmed at booking. See the fleet page. Vehicles are late-model, fully maintained and inspected, no more than 4 model years old, or 7 for Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach.

The ride back to FRA

For departures, work back from the check-in cutoff, adding time for the Autobahn and for security. Because Terminals 1 and 3 are different buildings, the booker asks for your flight number. Cancellation terms: more than 72 hours' notice no charge, 72 hours or less 10%, 48 hours or less 50%, 24 hours or less or no-show 100%, measured from the scheduled pickup time. Large events may carry a different deadline, stated on the confirmation.
