Continuity: the same chauffeur, trip after trip
Ask a family office manager what they dislike most about ground transport and the answer is rarely price or vehicle. It is explaining the household again. The principal likes the car cooler than the car in front of it, the nanny needs the seat moved forward before the toddler gets in, the younger children are not to be left at the curb until the door is answered, and nobody should ask the driver to wait on a side street where the neighbors will notice.
Private chauffeur service for high net worth families is mostly the discipline of remembering those instructions and applying them every time. Our desk answers around the clock. The rides themselves are delivered by vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur operators from our worldwide directory; booking, confirmation and invoicing stay with the desk. The desk holds the household's preferences once and passes them to whichever operator serves the trip in whichever city.
Where the same operator can serve the same family again, ask for the same chauffeur. The request is recorded against your booking, and we honor it where the operator can. Continuity cannot be promised in every city on every date, particularly during peak events, but it is the first thing the desk looks for.
What is a family office chauffeur service?

A family office chauffeur service provides private cars and professional drivers for a wealthy family and its staff, booked by a family office or personal assistant. It covers residences, schools, airports, yachts and private aviation, with consistent drivers, discretion and one invoice.
The family office is the customer in most cases, and the family is the passenger. That separation shapes how the service works. The office books, approves and pays. The family experiences a car that arrives, a driver who knows the routine and nothing else that needs thinking about.
The household brief: what the desk records once
Whatever you tell the desk about your household can be stored with the account and reused. Families typically record:
- Passengers and their roles. Principals, spouses, children, nannies, personal assistants, stylists, security leads.
- Seating preferences. Who sits where, how the rear seat is configured, and whether the child seat goes behind the driver or the passenger.
- Child seats. Child, toddler and booster seats are available on request at booking. Give the age and weight of each child for every trip, since children grow between bookings.
- Name-board preferences. An alias on the board for arrivals, or no board at all if the household is greeted by staff.
- Addresses and entrances. The gate code is not shared with the chauffeur until the team decides. The preferred entrance, the pickup point and the "do not wait here" locations are.
- Cabin comfort. Most vehicles carry water and phone chargers. Anything beyond that, such as a stocked cooler or specific lighting, should be arranged by the household. Alcohol is never promised, and local law applies.
- Communication rules. Who the chauffeur may call, who may call the chauffeur, and who receives updates.
Children, nannies and school runs
Families with children have a different set of requirements from any other group. Some are safety matters and some are courtesy, and a good chauffeur treats both seriously.
- Seats before arrival. Child, toddler and booster seats are fitted before the pickup if they were requested at booking. Do not rely on negotiating at the curb.
- Nannies as authorized passengers. If a nanny or assistant travels with the children alone, tell the desk. The booking will record that the children are to travel with that named adult.
- Handover discipline. At schools and activities, the chauffeur is briefed on who may collect the children. The desk cannot alter school policy, and the chauffeur follows whatever the school permits.
- Luggage for the whole household. A family of four with a nanny and a month of luggage is a Luxury SUV (Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon Denali or similar, up to 6 passengers and 5 to 6 large bags) with a second vehicle for the bags, or an Executive Sprinter (Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, 12 to 14 passengers, 12 bags).
- Travel days. Allow extra time. Children are slower than adults at every stage, and international arrivals include 60 minutes of free waiting after landing so that a delayed immigration queue does not cancel the pickup.
Residences, estates and second homes
Families own several properties, often in cities where the chauffeur has no previous knowledge of the entrance. A few habits help.

Give the chauffeur the correct address, the gate procedure and a named person on site. If the estate has a long driveway or a service road, say which one the car should use. If the house is in a private community with a guard post, add the guest-list procedure to the booking so the pickup is not delayed at the gate.
Seasonal movements, such as a move from a city apartment to a summer property, are well suited to a scheduled series of bookings with the same chauffeur. A related page covers long-distance car service, which compares driving, rail and flying between regions.
Yachts, marinas and the last mile
Yacht arrivals have their own logistics. A charter crew announces a window, and the actual arrival drifts with weather and tide. The marina has its own access rules, and the car has to wait where the harbor allows.
We take the vessel name, the berth or marina, the agent's contact and the expected window. We track what we can, and the chauffeur confirms the final timing with the yacht agent or the family office. Marinas decide who may enter and where vehicles may wait. When a berth is closed to cars, the chauffeur meets the party at the nearest permitted point and the luggage follows by whatever means the marina offers. Ask the desk in advance about the port or marina you plan to use, because access rules differ widely. For port-side pickups of cruise ships rather than private yachts, read about cruise transfers.
Private aviation hand-offs
Many families travel by private aircraft, and the car is the first and last link. A good hand-off depends on three details: the airport and fixed-base operator (FBO), the aircraft tail number or arrival time, and the number of passengers and bags.
The chauffeur is briefed with the FBO name and the expected arrival time. Every airport pickup is flight-tracked. Where the airport and FBO permit it, the car meets the aircraft at the FBO. The rules about vehicles on the ramp belong to the FBO and the airport, and we follow them.
For a map of the FBOs we serve and what to expect at each, see private aviation and the dedicated private jet car service page. Individual airport pages include Teterboro, Van Nuys, Palm Beach, Farnborough and Geneva.
Entry rules for the whole household
Entry requirements apply to everyone in the party, including infants and staff. Check them for every traveler before the family leaves.

- United Kingdom. Visitors who do not need a visa, including many from the USA, Canada and Europe, need an Electronic Travel Authorisation, and every traveler needs their own, babies and children included. The government lists the fee at £20 per traveler as of 2026. Apply only through GOV.UK.
- United States. Visa Waiver Program travelers need an approved ESTA before boarding, applied for on the official ESTA site.
A chauffeur waiting in a London arrivals hall cannot help a family whose nanny was refused boarding in Toronto. The family office should treat these checks as part of the trip plan, with the same attention it gives to security briefings.
Privacy and security boundaries
The central promise to a family is discretion. Chauffeurs neither photograph clients nor post about trips. NDAs are signed on request. Alias bookings keep the family's name off the name board. We never publish a client's name.
LimousineWorldwideDirectory.com is not a security company: there are no armed drivers and no bodyguards. Many families retain a security lead or a protective detail, and our chauffeur works alongside that team. The security lead is named in the booking, and the chauffeur follows reasonable instructions about routes and timing.
Some family offices apply business-travel risk frameworks to the household's travel. ISO 31030:2021 is a guidance standard on managing travel risks for organizations, and it excludes leisure travel, so it is a starting point for staff and business trips rather than for family holidays. A summary is on the ISO technical committee page. Using it does not make a family office compliant with anything, and we make no such claim.
One invoice, many entities
Wealthy families often operate several entities: a holding company, a foundation, a number of trusts and the principals themselves. The family office wants rides allocated correctly. Corporate accounts receive monthly invoicing, and bookings carry the reference your office provides, such as an entity code or a matter number. Ask the desk through the contact page how to structure the account. For the general mechanics, read corporate car service.
Choosing the vehicle
| Party | Suggested class | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Principal alone, or with one assistant | First Class Sedan (Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series or similar) | Quiet, comfortable, 2 large + 2 cabin bags |
| Couple with a child in a seat | Luxury SUV | Room for a child seat and for luggage |
| Family of four with a nanny | Luxury SUV plus a second vehicle for bags | Up to 6 passengers and 5 to 6 large bags per SUV |
| Extended family or staff | Executive Sprinter | Up to 12 to 14 passengers, 12 bags |
| Special occasion | Maybach, Rolls-Royce or Bentley on request | Availability confirmed at booking |
Class names are the same in every city, and exact models are "or similar" and confirmed at booking. In Europe and Asia expect Mercedes-Benz E-Class, S-Class and V-Class. Every vehicle is late-model, fully maintained and inspected; the age limit is 4 model years, or 7 for Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach. See the fleet page.

Frequently asked questions
Can I request the same chauffeur every time?
Yes, you can ask. The request is recorded against your booking, and we honor it where the local operator can. Continuity cannot be guaranteed in every city on every date, but it is always the first thing the desk tries.
Do you provide child seats and booster seats?
Child, toddler and booster seats can be requested at booking. Provide the age and weight of each child so that the correct seat is fitted before the pickup.
Can a nanny travel alone with the children?
Yes, with the booking noting the named adult and the children. The family office should also confirm that the nanny holds the right travel authorization for the destination.
Can you collect passengers from a private jet?
Yes, where the airport and fixed-base operator permit it. Give the desk the airport, the FBO and the arrival time, and the chauffeur is briefed. See private aviation.
Can the chauffeur wait at a marina for a yacht?
Yes, within the marina's access rules. Give the vessel name, the berth or marina and the agent's contact. The chauffeur waits where the marina permits and confirms timing with the family office.
Do you provide bodyguards or armed drivers?
No. Armed drivers and bodyguards are outside what we do. Our chauffeur works alongside the family's own security team.
How do you keep the family's identity private?
Alias bookings, NDAs on request and a strict no-photographs, no-posting rule for chauffeurs. We never publish or discuss client names.
How is the service invoiced?
Corporate accounts receive monthly invoicing, with booking references for each entity. The online booker shows the exact fare before each booking is confirmed. We do not publish rates.
