Where do I meet my chauffeur at LaGuardia Airport?
At LaGuardia, pre-booked drivers are met at a different place in each terminal: across the street from Terminal A, on level 2 of the parking garage at Terminal B, and in the inner arrivals lane at Terminal C. Follow the Car Services signs. Your confirmation names the exact spot for your flight.
That layout comes from LaGuardia's own page for van, shuttle and private car services, and it is the single most useful thing to know before you land. It is also why a LaGuardia airport car service works better when the driver knows the terminal in advance. A chauffeur who is told "LaGuardia" and nothing more may be waiting in the wrong building.
| Terminal | Airlines listed by the airport | Where car-service pickups are |
|---|---|---|
| Terminal A | Modern Aviation (the former Marine Air Terminal) | directly across the street from the terminal |
| Terminal B | Air Canada, American, Frontier, JetBlue, Porter, Southwest, United | level 2 of the Terminal B parking garage |
| Terminal C | Delta | the arrivals inner lane |
The booking is made with LimousineWorldwideDirectory.com. Our 24/7 desk confirms it, a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur operator from our worldwide directory drives it, and you get one confirmation and one invoice. Everything else on this page assumes that arrangement.
LGA airport transfer: how the pickup actually runs
The airport is strict about waiting. According to the pick-up and drop-off page, terminal curbs are for active pick-ups and drop-offs only, parking is not allowed on airport roadways or terminal frontages, and unattended vehicles are towed at the owner's expense. A driver may stand at the curb only when the passenger and the luggage are already there. Otherwise the driver has to wait in the Cell Phone Lot until the passenger calls.

So the sequence for your chauffeur is:
- Track the aircraft from departure and watch the gate and belt information.
- Wait in the free Cell Phone Lot, which the airport places off the airfield on 94th Street between 23rd Avenue and Ditmars Boulevard, under ten minutes from all terminals. Its listed hours are 7:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m., seven days a week.
- Move to the terminal's car-services point when you message that you have your bags.
- Load, pull away, and keep the road open for the next vehicle.
Late at night, after the lot has closed, the driver has other places to stage and your confirmation says so. The result is the same: the car arrives when you do.
If you would rather be met by a person than a text message, add the name-board meet and greet. The chauffeur holds a board with your name, or an alias if you want privacy, inside the arrivals area and walks you to the car. It suits first-time visitors, families, and executives arriving with assistants.
Customs, preclearance and domestic arrivals
LaGuardia's terminal directory lists airlines serving mostly domestic and Canadian routes, and the airport's own terminal page does not mention a customs hall. We therefore treat each flight on its origin, not on the airport.
- Domestic flights: no passport control. Walk out with your bags. The included free waiting time after landing is 30 minutes.
- Flights from Canada: Canadian airports such as Toronto Pearson offer U.S. preclearance, which means the passenger is cleared by U.S. officers before departure and lands as a domestic arrival. Your chauffeur sees the origin on the flight tracker.
- International arrivals without preclearance: 60 minutes of free waiting after landing applies. Customs and Border Protection lists LGA among the airports where Mobile Passport Control is offered for eligible travelers.
If you are not sure which category your flight is in, send us the flight number and we will confirm it in writing.
Drive times from LaGuardia to Manhattan, Brooklyn and the suburbs
LaGuardia is the closest of the three major New York airports to Midtown, and it is also the one where traffic on the Grand Central Parkway and the bridges and tunnels into Manhattan changes the answer most.
| From LGA to | Distance | Typical drive time |
|---|---|---|
| Midtown Manhattan | about 13 km (8 mi) | 25 to 60 minutes |
| Lower Manhattan | about 19 km (12 mi) | 35 to 75 minutes |
| Downtown Brooklyn | about 17 km (11 mi) | 30 to 70 minutes |
| Yankee Stadium | about 12 km (7 mi) | 20 to 50 minutes |
| JFK Airport | about 16 km (10 mi) | 25 to 50 minutes |
| Newark Liberty Airport | about 40 km (25 mi) | 50 to 110 minutes |
| Teterboro Airport | about 30 km (19 mi) | 40 to 90 minutes |
| Greenwich, Connecticut | about 50 km (31 mi) | 55 to 100 minutes |
A short distance does not make a short trip. At 5 p.m. on a weekday a drive that takes 25 minutes at midday can take more than an hour. Your quote is fixed whichever it turns out to be, and our desk adjusts the departure time to protect your meeting or your flight.
LaGuardia against the alternatives
For a single traveler with one bag, public transit at LaGuardia is excellent value, and we say so plainly. The Q70 LaGuardia Link bus is free to and from Terminal B and Terminal C and connects to the subway at Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue and 74 St-Broadway, according to the airport's public transportation page. The airport lists the Terminal C connection but not Terminal A, so Terminal A passengers should plan differently.

| Option | Typical time to Midtown | Cost note | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Q70 bus plus subway | 45 to 75 minutes | lowest (the bus is free) | one traveler with light luggage |
| Yellow taxi | 25 to 60 minutes | metered, plus tolls and fees | two passengers, no booking |
| Ride app | 25 to 60 minutes | surge-priced at peaks | short notice |
| Shared shuttle | 45 to 90 minutes | shared fare | budget travel, one stop |
| Private chauffeur | 25 to 60 minutes | fixed fare via the booker | groups, early or late flights, fixed meetings |
The airport's taxi page publishes estimates rather than flat rates (as of 2026): about $30 to $52 to Times Square and the Theater District, $34 to $57 to Tribeca and Civic Center, $60 to JFK and $110 to Newark, excluding tips, tolls and congestion pricing, plus a $2.00 airport access fee on pickups and a $1.00 weekday peak surcharge between 4 and 8 p.m. For a short hop with one passenger, a taxi is good value. For a trip to Newark or Westchester, or for three or more people, a fixed fare booked in advance removes the guesswork.
Rush hours, the roads and the bridges
LaGuardia sits on the edge of Queens, and every route to Manhattan goes through one of a handful of crossings. The Grand Central Parkway feeds the Triborough Bridge and the Long Island Expressway; the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway reaches Brooklyn; the Whitestone and Throgs Neck bridges lead to the Bronx and Connecticut. Each has a different personality.
- Morning peak: inbound traffic to Manhattan is heavy; airport-bound traffic from Manhattan is lighter, but the Grand Central Parkway still slows near the airport.
- Evening peak: the reverse. Leaving the airport toward the suburbs between 4 and 7 p.m. is the slowest slot of the day.
- Event days: Citi Field is close to the airport. A baseball game, a tennis tournament or a concert changes the approach roads, and a driver who watches the schedule will use a different exit.
- Weather: the airport sits on the water and fog or snow affect flights first. Flight tracking means the car is waiting for the delayed aircraft, not the original one.
Vehicles for a LaGuardia pickup
Exact models are confirmed at booking. All are late-model, fully maintained and inspected, no more than four model years old.

Business travel, shuttles between airports and private flights
LaGuardia is the New York business airport: short hops to Washington, Boston, Chicago and Toronto, and a steady stream of executives. We run corporate accounts with monthly invoicing and can set up the same driver for a whole trip. See our corporate car service page and the New York limo service overview for hourly bookings.

Connections between airports are a common request. A traveler arriving at LaGuardia and departing from JFK the same evening, or a group going from LaGuardia to Newark, can book one car for the whole day, and the chauffeur waits between legs. For private aviation, Teterboro is about 30 km (19 mi) away, and our private jet car service meets the aircraft where the operator permits.
From the airport to a hotel, a ship or a show
The usual first stops from LaGuardia on a leisure trip are a Midtown hotel and then a sightseeing day.
- Central Park is about 14 km (9 mi) from the airport, 30 to 60 minutes. Read our guide to Central Park before you plan the drop-off point.
- Times Square is about 14 km (9 mi), 30 to 65 minutes. See Times Square for pedestrian-zone access.
- The Statue of Liberty departs from Battery Park, about 21 km (13 mi) from LGA. Our Statue of Liberty guide covers timed ferry entry.
- Cruises from the Manhattan Cruise Terminal are about 16 km (10 mi) from LGA, 35 to 70 minutes. Rail connections to Amtrak and New Jersey Transit are at Penn Station, about 14 km (9 mi) away.

Discretion, protocol and trade bookings
Chauffeurs do not photograph clients or post about trips. NDAs are signed on request and alias bookings are available. We are a chauffeur service, not a security company: no armed drivers or bodyguards, and we work alongside a client's own security team. Official tourist offices, tourism boards, convention and visitor bureaus and visitor centres can book chauffeur services for their visitors with LimousineWorldwideDirectory.com through a trade account. Hotel concierges and travel agents can use the hotel concierge bookings route.
Cancellations
More than 72 hours' notice: no charge. 72 hours or less: 10%. 48 hours or less: 50%. 24 hours or less, or no-show: 100%, measured from the scheduled pickup time. A delayed flight moves the pickup and is not a no-show.

LaGuardia is about 13 km (8 mi) from Midtown. A private car usually takes 25 to 60 minutes, and more at the weekday peaks. Late evening is the fastest time to travel.
Where do I find my driver at LaGuardia Terminal B?
According to the airport, car-service pickup at Terminal B is on level 2 of the Terminal B parking garage, following the Car Services signs. Your chauffeur confirms the spot by message when you have your bags.
Where do I find my driver at Terminal A or Terminal C?
At Terminal A, the car-service pickup is directly across the street from the terminal. At Terminal C, it is the arrivals inner lane. Both are marked with Car Services signs.

How long will the driver wait if my flight is late?
Flight tracking moves the pickup to match the landing. Domestic arrivals include 30 minutes of free waiting after landing and international arrivals 60 minutes. Other pickups include 15 minutes.
Is a car service better value than a taxi from LaGuardia?
