What does a private driver in Paris include?
A Paris chauffeur service gives you a vetted, licensed driver in a late-model Mercedes-Benz, picked up at the airport, station, hotel or any address, at a fixed fare shown before you book. LimousineWorldwideDirectory.com handles booking, confirmation and the invoice around the clock.
Paris is compact and congested at once. The Périphérique, a ring road of about 35 km, starts filling around 7:30 a.m., and many of the best hotel doors sit on streets that were laid out before cars existed. A private driver who works these corners daily saves time that no map app can promise.
We do not own cars, garages or offices in France. LimousineWorldwideDirectory.com lists vetted, licensed and commercially insured Paris chauffeur operators in its Europe directory. Our worldwide desk books each ride, confirms it, and sends a single invoice, so you deal with one contact whether the car is in Paris, Lyon or Reims.
Paris airports: Charles de Gaulle, Orly, Le Bourget and Beauvais
Four airfields serve the region, and each suits a different traveler. Distances below are road distances to the centre of Paris, with typical drive times outside the worst peaks.

| Airport | Road distance to centre | Typical drive time | Who uses it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Charles de Gaulle (CDG) | 30 km / 19 mi | 40 to 75 minutes | Intercontinental flights, Air France hub |
| Orly (ORY) | 16 km / 10 mi | 25 to 45 minutes | Domestic, Mediterranean and North Africa routes |
| Le Bourget (LBG) | 15 km / 9 mi | 25 to 50 minutes | Private jets and business aviation |
| Beauvais (BVA) | 85 km / 53 mi | 1 hr 15 to 1 hr 45 | Low-cost carriers |
Traffic into Paris from the A1 motorway at CDG is the main variable. Weekday mornings between 7:30 and 9:30 a.m. are the slowest inbound window; the outbound evening peak runs roughly 5 to 8 p.m. At night the same drive can take 30 minutes.
Charles de Gaulle
CDG has three terminals, numbered 1, 2 and 3, with Terminal 2 divided into sub-terminals 2A to 2G. They are spread over a large site, and the walk between them is real; your pickup point depends on your airline, which is why the booking asks for your flight number. Our Paris Charles de Gaulle chauffeur service page covers meeting points and timing in detail.
Orly
Orly sits south of the city and is the shortest airport run, but the A6 and the Périphérique are crowded at the start and end of the working day. Our drivers choose the route on the day.
Private jets at Le Bourget
Le Bourget is the main business-aviation airport for Paris, about 15 km (9 miles) northeast of the centre. A car for a private-jet arrival is booked as any other transfer, but the chauffeur meets you at the FBO or the aircraft, and timing follows your wheels-down time. Read the Paris Le Bourget chauffeur service guide for ramp access and handling, or the private jet car service overview.
The Paris Air Show is held at Le Bourget in odd-numbered years, so the next edition falls in 2027. Roads around the airport slow noticeably during trade days; we recommend booking early. See private aviation hub for other FBOs.
Gare du Nord, Eurostar and the other Paris stations
Paris has seven large terminus stations, each serving different regions. For international travel, Gare du Nord is the Eurostar terminal for London, Brussels and Amsterdam. Your chauffeur can meet you at the station entrance, or inside the concourse with a name board as an add-on. Read the Gare du Nord chauffeur service page for drop-off and pickup details, and the general train station transfers overview.
Travelers connecting from Eurostar to a flight at CDG should allow generous margins. The ring road on the north side of Paris is one of the busiest roads in Europe on weekday afternoons.
How do I get from Charles de Gaulle to central Paris?

The RER B suburban train, a taxi, a rideshare or a private chauffeur. For one traveler with light luggage, the RER B is the lowest-cost option. A chauffeur wins on comfort and certainty: a fixed fare, flight tracking, a driver at arrivals and a door-to-door ride, especially with luggage, children or a late flight.
| Option | Typical time to central Paris | Cost note | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| RER B train | 35 to 50 minutes plus walk | Lowest | Solo travelers, light bags, hotels near a station |
| Metered taxi | 40 to 75 minutes | Metered | Spontaneous arrivals |
| App rideshare | 40 to 75 minutes | Surge-priced at peaks | Short notice |
| Private chauffeur | 40 to 75 minutes | Fixed fare via the booker | Families, executives, heavy luggage, late arrivals |
The train is not the better choice every time. It costs less and is not exposed to road traffic. Choose a car when there is more than one suitcase per person or when the hotel is far from a station.
Driving in Paris: ring roads, bus lanes and Crit'Air
Practical points a Paris dispatcher keeps in mind:
- Périphérique and A86. The city is circled by the Périphérique; the A86 forms a wider ring through the inner suburbs. Accidents on either can add 30 minutes.
- Bus lanes. Not every vehicle may use them, so a chauffeur plans routes that stay legal for the car.
- Low-emission rules. France has used Crit'Air stickers to limit older vehicles in Paris and the inner suburbs; the sticker system is described on the official Crit'Air site. As a passenger you do nothing: our operators field late-model vehicles.
- Event closures. The city publishes one-off road closures for demonstrations, marathons and ceremonies. The City of Paris website lists current closures, and your chauffeur monitors them before pickup.
- Narrow streets. Marais and Saint-Germain have one-way systems where a Sprinter will not fit. For large groups, the desk plans a drop-off at the nearest practical square.
Hotels, districts and business addresses
Paris divides naturally into districts, each with a different rhythm.
- The Golden Triangle and the Champs-Élysées. Avenue Montaigne, Avenue George V and Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré hold the major hotels and fashion houses.
- Place Vendôme and Opéra. Jewelers, luxury hotels and corporate offices.
- Le Marais and Île Saint-Louis. Boutiques and narrow streets; arrivals are better planned on foot for the last stretch.
- Saint-Germain-des-Prés and the Left Bank. Publishing houses, galleries and small hotels.
- La Défense and Neuilly-sur-Seine. The business district west of the city and an affluent suburb; the Pont de Neuilly bottlenecks at rush hour.
Chauffeurs do not photograph clients or post about trips, NDAs are signed on request, and alias bookings are routine. For celebrities, families and principals, see VIP and celebrity chauffeur. We are a chauffeur service, not a security company, so we work alongside your own security team instead of providing armed drivers or bodyguards.
Events and fashion weeks
Paris Fashion Week and couture shows, Roland-Garros in late May and early June, and the autumn and spring trade fairs at the Porte de Versailles and Paris Nord Villepinte all fill hotels and thin out cars. Book as soon as your dates are firm. For a multi-day run with several guests, our event transportation and roadshow car service pages explain how we schedule a fleet. Large events may carry a different cancellation deadline, stated on your confirmation.

Paris attractions by private car
Several Paris landmarks have no kerbside parking, so a precise drop-off plan matters. Our visitor guides give the details:
- Eiffel Tower: where to be dropped off and what to book ahead.
- Louvre Museum: the Louvre's website announces booking requirements and closures by date, so check louvre.fr before you go.
- Notre-Dame de Paris and the Île de la Cité.
- Musée d'Orsay on the Left Bank.
- Arc de Triomphe and the Champs-Élysées.
- Montmartre and Sacré-Cœur: steep, narrow streets above Pigalle.
For a guided visit inside museums or monuments that require or recommend a licensed guide, we suggest booking a guide separately. Your chauffeur drives and can suggest stops. See private tours with driver for how a custom day is built.

Versailles, per its official site, opens the château from 9:00 to 18:30 and is closed on Mondays, while the gardens and park are open daily; its page advises buying tickets only through the official ticket office because of counterfeit tickets. The distances to Normandy and Mont-Saint-Michel make those full-day or overnight trips; the desk will say frankly when a plan is too tight for a single day.
Cruise passengers arriving at Le Havre are about 200 km (125 miles) from central Paris, usually 2 hr to 2 hr 30, a common transfer on port days. See cruise transfers.
