Why private jets land at Le Bourget and not at Charles de Gaulle
Paris-Le Bourget is the city's business-aviation airport, run by Aéroports de Paris, and about 7 km north of central Paris. Charles de Gaulle is farther out, busier and built around airlines. Le Bourget has FBOs, private boarding and a customs post on site, and the road into the capital takes about 20 minutes when it is clear.
Aéroports de Paris describes Le Bourget in its own airport guide as Europe's leading business-aviation airport and places it 7 km from Paris. The guide gives a motorway drive of about 15 minutes outside rush hours from Porte de la Chapelle (Aéroports de Paris, Le Bourget airport guide). The same airport is also home to the Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace, and it hosts the Paris Air Show, held in June in odd-numbered years.
Bookings are handled by our 24/7 desk. The chauffeur who collects you at Le Bourget is a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local operator from our worldwide directory, and the desk books, confirms and invoices the ride, which means one confirmation, one invoice and one number to call. Inside France, the driver is a licensed local professional.
How does a Paris Le Bourget car service transfer work?

Paris Le Bourget car service is a pre-booked chauffeur who meets a private aircraft at its FBO, clears the airport's controlled area where permitted, and drives to Paris, Versailles, Disneyland Paris, Champagne or any address in France. The booking is timed to the aircraft's arrival, whatever the airline timetable says.
We ask for the FBO, the estimated arrival time, the aircraft registration if the operator will share it, and the passenger names. Names can be replaced by an alias on the booking and on the name board. The chauffeur is briefed on the FBO's entrance and its security procedure, so there are no surprises at the gate.
What happens at the aircraft door is decided by the FBO and the aircraft operator. Jetex lists direct ramp access on its Le Bourget page and ExecuJet describes direct ramp access with a dedicated security filter; neither page tells a visiting car what its vehicle rights are, and we do not promise planeside access. We ask the FBO for the arrangement ahead of time. If the car cannot go airside, it waits at the FBO terminal entrance.
We track the flight on each airport pickup. On landing, an international arrival carries 60 minutes of free waiting; a domestic arrival carries 30; other pickups carry 15. For flights from outside the Schengen area, the desk allows for passport control in the schedule.
Which FBOs are at Le Bourget?
Le Bourget has several private terminals, and the line-up has changed as operators have been bought and rebranded. Three whose own websites describe a Le Bourget FBO are:
- Jetex: 6-8 rue Henri Lossier, Building 34. The page lists 24/7 operations, customs and immigration services, a VIP lounge and direct ramp access, and states that US customs preclearance is not available.
- Signature Aviation: 45 Avenue de l'Europe, Zone Aviation d'Affaires. Hours are listed as 6 am to 10 pm local, seven days a week, with call-out on request. Customs and immigration are handled on site, and the page says central Paris is about 20 minutes away.
- ExecuJet (Luxaviation): 3 rue de Londres. The FBO lists 06:00 to 22:00 on weekdays and the hours from 22:00 to 06:00 on request. The pilot information lists landing as available 24 hours and take-off from 06:00 to 22:00 local time, and customs and immigration are on site.
Opening hours matter for departures as well as arrivals, because take-off hours are limited (ExecuJet lists 06:00 to 22:00 local) and the FBOs publish different staffing windows. If your departure falls outside the normal window, tell the FBO and tell us, and we plan the car around the FBO's confirmed time. The French customs and border police have their own offices at the airport; check the arrangements with your FBO rather than assuming that clearance is always available out of hours.

Paris roads, low-emission rules and the Périphérique
The Boulevard Périphérique ring road is the first test of a Paris transfer. Its traffic is lightest overnight and on Sunday mornings and heaviest from about 7:30 to 10 am and from 4:30 to 8 pm on weekdays. A late-afternoon departure from the Eiffel Tower area back to Le Bourget can take twice as long as the same trip at noon, and the desk plans the departure time accordingly.

Paris restricts older vehicles through the Crit'Air sticker system and its low-emission-zone rules. Our vehicles are late-model: no more than four model years old, and up to seven for Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach. Streets near the Eiffel Tower, the Champs-Élysées and the Louvre also carry temporary closures for events, demonstrations and sporting fixtures. The chauffeur checks the closure notices on the morning of the trip, and we tell you if the plan changes.
For the city side of the journey, our Paris chauffeur service page covers hotels, evening transfers and event logistics. For commercial arrivals, see Charles de Gaulle, and for Eurostar and the north-eastern rail line, the Gare du Nord guide.
Le Bourget compared with Charles de Gaulle and the train
Le Bourget is not always the right airport, and a private jet is not always the right choice. A comparison for a Paris trip:
| Option | Approx. time to central Paris | Cost note | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chauffeur from the FBO, booked in advance | 20-50 min | Fixed fare via the booker | Private-jet passengers, families, executives, groups with luggage |
| Taxi from Le Bourget | 20-50 min | Metered | Light luggage and no fixed schedule |
| RER B plus city bus to the airport | Varies; two changes | Lowest | Staff with little luggage, not recommended for principals |
| Commercial arrival at CDG instead | 45-90 min | Often the lowest airfare | Passengers on an airline itinerary |
| Rental car | 20-60 min plus paperwork | Charged by the day, plus parking and tolls | Guests who plan to drive outside the city |
The Aéroports de Paris guide describes the RER B and bus connection for staff, and it also notes taxis. If you are alone with a carry-on, a taxi is the lower-cost choice. The chauffeur wins when more than one of you is traveling, when luggage matters, or when the arrival time is uncertain.
Famous destinations by car from Le Bourget
Most visitors split their first day between a handful of destinations. We have written detailed guides to each:
- The Eiffel Tower: visiting by chauffeur.
- The Louvre: timed entry and arrival by car.
- The Palace of Versailles: about 40 to 45 km (25 to 28 mi), a half-day or full-day trip.
- Notre-Dame de Paris: arrival by car.
- Disneyland Paris: about 35 to 40 km (22 to 25 mi) east of the airport.
- Giverny and Monet's garden: a day trip into Normandy.
- The Champagne houses of Reims and Épernay: a full day.
Sites that need a licensed guide say so on their official pages, and the chauffeur drives and suggests stops while the guide interprets. Where timed tickets are required, book them on the site's own official page.
Vehicles and capacity
In France the classes are drawn from Mercedes-Benz, and the exact model, offered "or similar", is confirmed at booking.

| Class | Models | Passengers | Bags |
|---|---|---|---|
| Executive Sedan | Mercedes-Benz E-Class | 3 | 2 large and 2 cabin |
| First Class Sedan | Mercedes-Benz S-Class or BMW 7 Series | 3 | 2 large and 2 cabin |
| Luxury SUV or van | Mercedes-Benz V-Class or a similar large SUV | 6 | 5 to 6 large |
| Executive Sprinter | Mercedes-Benz Sprinter | 12 to 14 | 12 |
Stretch limousines, mini-coaches and coaches can be arranged on request, and so can Maybach, Rolls-Royce and Bentley, with availability confirmed at booking. The vehicles are late-model, fully maintained and inspected, with a four-model-year limit (seven for Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach). Child, toddler and booster seats come on request, and most cars have water and phone chargers on board. The fleet page has more.
Discretion, security and recurring programs
Le Bourget is an ordinary arrival point for executives, public figures and families who want privacy. The chauffeur will not photograph a passenger or post about the trip; confidentiality agreements are signed on request, and an alias can appear on the booking. Protection is not part of the service. We are a chauffeur company, not a security company, so no armed drivers or bodyguards are supplied, and a client's own team leads.
On multi-city programs one desk keeps the confirmation and invoice together. A flight from Farnborough to Le Bourget, then Nice for the weekend, then Geneva for the week means three FBOs, three operators and one point of contact. Our private jet car service page covers FBO work worldwide, and the private aviation hub lists the other airports. Corporate accounts are invoiced monthly, and travel agents, destination management companies and hotel concierges can use a trade account.
Changes, delays and cancellations
Tracking moves the pickup when the aircraft is early or late. For cancellations, the clock starts at the scheduled pickup time: free beyond 72 hours, 10% from 72 hours, 50% from 48 hours, and 100% from 24 hours or on a no-show. Large events, including the Paris Air Show, may carry a different deadline, which your confirmation states.
When the Air Show is on, traffic to and from Le Bourget is heavy. Plan well ahead and send the desk the FBO and aircraft details early.
Frequently asked questions
How far is Le Bourget airport from central Paris?
About 7 km (4 mi) from the northern edge of Paris, and about 14 km (9 mi) to the Champs-Élysées. Aéroports de Paris gives a drive of about 15 minutes to Porte de la Chapelle outside rush hours; allow 25 to 50 minutes to the Étoile or the Eiffel Tower area in normal traffic.
Which FBOs are at Paris Le Bourget?
Jetex, Signature Aviation and ExecuJet each describe a Le Bourget FBO on their own websites, and other handlers operate there. Ownership has changed several times, so confirm your FBO with your flight department. Our desk verifies the building and entrance with the FBO before the pickup.
Can the car drive onto the ramp at Le Bourget?
It depends on the FBO, the aircraft operator and the airport's security rules. We do not promise planeside access. Jetex and ExecuJet list direct ramp access for aircraft handling; for vehicles we ask the FBO and report back to you.
Is customs available at Le Bourget?
The three FBOs listed above all describe customs and immigration on site, with different opening hours. Signature lists 6 am to 10 pm, ExecuJet lists 06:00 to 22:00 on weekdays and later hours on request, and Jetex lists 24/7 operations. Confirm availability for your arrival time.
How long is the drive from Le Bourget to Versailles?
