ITB Berlin without the taxi line
ITB is a meeting place for tourism boards, airlines, hotel groups, destination management companies and tour operators, and its three days are scheduled to the half hour. Delegates arrive with back-to-back appointments, often in several halls, and with bags that contain brochures as much as clothes. What they cannot afford is a forty-minute wait for transport at five o'clock when every hall empties at once.
A pre-booked ITB Berlin car service replaces that wait with a named chauffeur and a vehicle in the right pick-up zone. Behind the website is a 24/7 booking desk. Every ride is delivered by a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur operator from our worldwide directory, and the desk books, confirms and invoices it, so a tourism board with a delegation of eight pays one invoice and talks to one team.
How do I get from BER airport to ITB Berlin?

Messe Berlin is about 35 km (22 mi) from BER, normally 35 to 60 minutes by road depending on the city motorway. A chauffeur tracks your flight, meets you at Terminal 1 arrivals and drives you to the pick-up zone that matches your hall. The airport train and S-Bahn are the lower-cost alternative.
Berlin Brandenburg Airport is about 23 km south of the city center, and the exhibition grounds are on the western edge of the inner city, so the route crosses Berlin. That is why ITB visitors who want a predictable arrival time book a car.
ITB Berlin 2027 dates, hours and venue
According to the official ITB Berlin visitor page, ITB Berlin 2027 takes place from Tuesday 16 to Thursday 18 March 2027 at Berlin Expocenter City, Messedamm 22, 14055 Berlin. Visitor hours are 10:00 to 18:00, and exhibitors can enter from 8:30 until 19:00. Tickets are bought online, and there are no box offices on site.
The 2027 dates are a one-time shift from the usual early-March slot. The organizers say the change allows Muslim exhibitors and visitors to observe Eid al-Fitr at the end of Ramadan and still attend all days. Later editions are listed for early March, starting with 7 to 9 March 2028. For travelers it means that the usual March hotel and flight patterns move by about two weeks, so bookings made on old assumptions are the most common mistake.
Airports, stations and the exhibition grounds: distances
| Route to Messe Berlin | Distance | Typical drive time |
|---|---|---|
| BER airport (Terminal 1) | about 35 km (22 mi) | 35 to 60 minutes |
| Berlin Hauptbahnhof | about 9 km (5.5 mi) | 20 to 35 minutes |
| Brandenburger Tor and Mitte hotels | about 8 km (5 mi) | 20 to 35 minutes |
| Potsdamer Platz | about 8 km (5 mi) | 20 to 35 minutes |
| Kurfürstendamm and Charlottenburg hotels | about 4 km (2.5 mi) | 10 to 20 minutes |
| Spandau | about 10 km (6 mi) | 20 to 30 minutes |
All times assume normal traffic. The roads around the Funkturm interchange and the Messedamm are crowded at the opening and closing of each show day, and the desk adds a buffer when you book. The city motorway is the key link between the airport and the grounds, and a chauffeur chooses between it and the surface roads on the day.
Where cars stop: the pick-up and drop-off zones
The official ITB pages for the 2026 edition list three pick-up and drop-off zones at the grounds: at CityCube Berlin, at hub27, and at Messe Nord, which is limited to Uber taxis. Taxi Berlin collects passengers anywhere in the city. The zones for 2027 are published by the organizer closer to the event, and the current-information page is the place to check.

For a pre-booked chauffeur, the best zone depends on the hall of your first appointment. The grounds are large, and a walk from one end to the other can take longer than the car ride from the hotel. Tell the desk your hall number or the name of your stand, and the operator selects the nearest permitted stopping point and reports it to you before the day.
Public transport, taxi and chauffeur compared
| Option | From the city to Messe | Cost note | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| S-Bahn to Messe Süd or Messe Nord/ICC | About 10 to 15 minutes from Hauptbahnhof, per Messe Berlin | Lowest | Light travelers, solo delegates |
| U-Bahn to Kaiserdamm or Theodor-Heuss-Platz (U2) | Short walk to the grounds | Lowest | Hotel guests on the line |
| Taxi | 20 to 40 minutes | Metered; long waits at peak | Single trips with light bags |
| Rideshare | 20 to 40 minutes | Surge-priced at peaks | Unplanned hops |
| Pre-booked chauffeur | 20 to 40 minutes | Fixed fare via the booker | Delegations, executives, ministers, tight schedules |
Berlin's public transport is excellent, and for a solo delegate staying along an S-Bahn line, it is the best-value and often the fastest choice. The organizer's own notices recommend the S-Bahn lines that serve Messe Süd and Messe Nord/ICC. A chauffeur is better when you are three or more travelers, when you are carrying brochures and gifts, when you finish late, or when you are a speaker or a minister's party with a fixed schedule.
Hotel runs, receptions and the evening circuit
Many ITB deals are made in the evening. Hotel receptions, destination dinners and tourism board parties take place across the city, from Mitte to Charlottenburg and out to Potsdam, and the end of the working day is when taxis disappear. An hourly chauffeur stays with you between the grounds, the hotel and the reception, which is why DMCs and tourism offices often book a vehicle for the week. The hourly chauffeur service page explains the arrangement, and a corporate car service account puts all rides on a monthly invoice.
Tourism boards, DMCs and trade accounts
ITB is where the people who sell travel gather, and they understand the value of a smooth arrival. Official tourist offices, tourism boards, convention and visitor bureaus and visitor centres can book chauffeur services for their visitors with LimousineWorldwideDirectory.com through a trade account. Travel agents, DMCs and hotel concierges have trade accounts too. See the tourist offices directory for how bureaus are organized, and the Europe tourist offices page for the region.

Vehicles for Berlin
For one or two delegates, a First Class Sedan (Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series or similar) carries up to 3 passengers with 2 large and 2 cabin bags, and an Executive Sedan (Mercedes-Benz E-Class or similar) has the same capacity. A Mercedes-Benz V-Class suits a small team with luggage, while a Luxury SUV takes up to 6 passengers and 5 to 6 large bags. The Executive Sprinter, a Mercedes-Benz, takes 12 to 14 passengers and 12 bags. Mini-coach and coach can be requested, and so can Maybach, Rolls-Royce and Bentley, subject to availability confirmed at booking. Each class is "or similar", the exact model is confirmed at booking, and vehicles are late-model, fully maintained and inspected.
Most vehicles have water and phone chargers, and child, toddler and booster seats are available if you ask at booking. Every airport pickup includes flight tracking, and the free wait after landing is 60 minutes on international arrivals and 30 minutes on domestic ones. A name-board meet-and-greet inside arrivals is available as an add-on, with an alias on the board if you want discretion. See the fleet page.
BER arrival details
The Berlin convention bureau's travel guide describes BER's layout: the airport railway station is directly beneath Terminal 1, the Airport Express and regional trains serve the city, S-Bahn lines S9 and S45 run every 20 minutes, and licensed taxis wait at the North and South ranks outside Terminal 1 on the arrivals level. The center is reachable in about 30 minutes. In practice a chauffeur removes the question of which rank, which train and which ticket zone, and takes you straight to the Messe.
If you drive yourself: the low-emission zone
Central Berlin has a low-emission zone bounded by the S-Bahn Ring, where only vehicles with a green sticker may enter, and the official Berlin page applies the rule to foreign-registered vehicles too (electric vehicles are treated differently). Our chauffeur vehicles are the operator's responsibility; this note is for delegates considering a rental car. The exhibition grounds also have limited parking, with the organizer warning that spaces fill quickly.
Seeing Berlin between meetings
Berlin's headline sights are within a short drive of the grounds. The Brandenburg Gate guide explains the pedestrian approach and where cars can stop, the Reichstag Building guide covers visiting the building, Museum Island is on the east side of the center, and the East Side Gallery works well for a short late-afternoon stop. For a day with a guide, see private tours with a driver.
Discretion and security
A chauffeur will not photograph you or post about the trip, and an NDA or an alias booking can be arranged on request. That helps when you are negotiating a contract in the back of a car. We provide chauffeurs, not security staff: no armed drivers and no bodyguards. If a client's own security team is traveling, we coordinate timings with it.
Planning checklist and cancellation terms
- Confirm the 2027 dates before booking hotels and flights; they differ from earlier years.
- Book airport pickups for Monday 15 and Tuesday 16 March first.
- Give the desk your hall or stand, not only the venue address.
- Tell the desk if you will carry brochure boxes or gifts, so the right class is assigned.
- Decide who needs a car for the evening receptions.
- Plan Thursday departures early.
Cancellation: more than 72 hours' notice is free of charge; 72 hours or less carries 10%; 48 hours or less 50%; 24 hours or less or a no-show 100%, measured from the scheduled pickup time. Large events may carry a different deadline, which is stated on your confirmation.
See the conferences hub and the conference transportation guide for other shows. In the same season, MWC Barcelona runs in early March, and IMEX Frankfurt follows in May. For the wider region see the Europe directory.
