These are the questions clients ask our 24/7 worldwide desk most often. They are grouped loosely in the order a booking happens: how to book, what it costs, what happens on the day, and how accounts work. If your question is not answered here, the desk is reachable through the contact page, and the about page explains how the directory and the desk fit together.

For anything that involves a fare, the online booker is the single source of truth. It quotes the exact price for your addresses and vehicle before you confirm.

Frequently asked questions

How do I book a chauffeur or limousine?

Use the online booker. Enter the pickup, the destination, the date and time, the number of passengers and bags, and choose a vehicle class. The booker shows a fixed fare, and you confirm. You can also contact the desk, which is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and a team member will place the booking for you.

Who actually drives the car?

A vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur operator from our worldwide directory. LimousineWorldwideDirectory.com books, confirms and invoices the ride, so you receive one confirmation, one invoice and one point of contact whichever operator performs it.

How far ahead should I book?

As early as you can. For ordinary city and airport rides the booker will tell you what is available. For major events, conferences and peak travel periods, book well ahead, because vehicles and chauffeurs in the host city are in demand. Short-notice requests are welcome; the desk will tell you honestly if a request cannot be met.

Do you publish a price list or rates?

No. The fare depends on the route, the date, the time and the vehicle, so we do not print a list. The online booker quotes the exact fare for your exact addresses and vehicle before you confirm. We call this a fixed fare, quoted before you book.

Will the fare change after I book?

The fare you confirm is the fare in your confirmation. Extra waiting beyond the included time, added stops and route changes that you request on the day are billed as set out in your confirmation. If your plans change before the trip, tell the desk and it will update the booking.

How does payment work?

You see the fare before you pay, and you receive one invoice from us regardless of which operator drives. Corporate accounts are invoiced monthly. Your confirmation sets out the payment steps for your booking.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellation is measured from the scheduled pickup time. With more than 72 hours' notice there is no charge. At 72 hours or less the charge is 10%, at 48 hours or less it is 50%, and at 24 hours or less, or for a no-show, it is 100%. Large events may carry a different deadline, which is stated on your confirmation.

Can I change the time or the pickup address?

Yes, contact the desk as soon as you know. Changes are made against the original booking, and the confirmation is reissued. A change that moves the pickup time is measured against the cancellation schedule from the new scheduled time.

How much waiting time is included?

On international airport arrivals we include 60 minutes of free waiting after landing. On domestic arrivals it is 30 minutes, and on other pickups, such as hotels and offices, it is 15 minutes. Waiting beyond that is billed as set out in your confirmation.

Do you track my flight?

Yes. Every airport pickup includes flight tracking, so a delayed or early arrival is taken into account. Please give the flight number when you book. Waiting time begins at landing, not at the original scheduled time.

What is meet and greet and do I need it?

Meet and greet means the chauffeur waits inside the arrivals hall holding a name board. It is an add-on. Without it, the chauffeur meets you at the designated pickup point for that airport, and the confirmation tells you where. If you prefer privacy, the board can carry an alias instead of your name. See meet and greet.

Can I ride with children, and do you provide child seats?

Yes. Child, toddler and booster seats are available on request at booking. Tell us the age and weight of each child so the right seat is in the vehicle. Seat availability and legal requirements vary by country, and the desk will advise on the local rules.

How much luggage fits?

An Executive Sedan or First Class Sedan takes up to three passengers with two large and two cabin bags. A Luxury SUV takes up to six passengers and five to six large bags. An Executive Sprinter takes twelve to fourteen passengers and about twelve bags. If you are carrying oversized items such as golf bags, skis or equipment cases, mention them at booking.

What vehicle classes can I book?

Executive Sedan (Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Cadillac CT6 or Lyriq, or similar), First Class Sedan (Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series, or similar), Luxury SUV (Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon Denali, or similar) and Executive Sprinter. Stretch limousines, mini-coaches and coaches are available on request, as are Maybach, Rolls-Royce and Bentley, with availability confirmed at booking. The exact model is confirmed when you book. See the fleet page.

How old are the vehicles?

Vehicles are late-model, fully maintained and inspected, and no more than four model years old. Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach may be up to seven. Water and phone chargers are in most vehicles.

Which countries and cities do you cover?

The directory covers six regions: North America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean and Africa. If a city is not listed, ask the desk. It may still be able to arrange a vetted operator.

Can you cover trips that cross a border?

Yes, subject to local rules. Trips inside the United States use US-licensed operators. Cross-border trips follow local cabotage rules, which govern whether a vehicle licensed in one country may carry passengers between points in another. The desk arranges a compliant solution, which sometimes means a hand-off at the border.

Do you pick up from private aviation terminals (FBOs)?

Yes. Pickups at fixed-base operators are arranged by the aircraft's tail number and the FBO's name. Procedures differ by airport: at some, the car meets the aircraft on the apron; at others, it waits at the FBO lobby. Tell the desk the FBO and the arrival time, and see our private aviation hub.

Can you meet a cruise ship or collect passengers from a port?

Yes. We arrange transfers between airports, hotels and cruise terminals, timed around embarkation and disembarkation. Give the ship name and the terminal if you know it. Our cruise ports hub has port-specific detail.

Can you pick up from a train station?

Yes. For rail arrivals, give the train number and operator along with the station. The chauffeur can meet you at the platform exit or the agreed meeting point and help with luggage. See train stations.

Do you offer corporate accounts?

Yes. Corporate accounts offer monthly invoicing, bookings placed by travel managers and assistants on behalf of travelers, and one account across cities. Read about our corporate car service or ask the desk to set up an account.

Can travel agents, DMCs and concierges book through you?

Yes, through a trade account. Travel agents, destination management companies, tour operators, hotel concierges and private concierges use it to book for clients. See travel trade and hotel concierge bookings.

Can tourist offices and tourism boards book for their visitors?

Official tourist offices, tourism boards, convention and visitor bureaus and visitor centres can book chauffeur services for their visitors with LimousineWorldwideDirectory.com through a trade account. This does not imply that any named office is a partner. See tourist offices.

How do you protect my privacy and my identity?

Bookings can be placed under an alias, non-disclosure agreements are signed on request, and chauffeurs do not photograph clients or post about trips. Booking details go only to the assigned local operator and only as far as needed to perform the ride. See the privacy policy and our page on the VIP and celebrity chauffeur service.

Do you provide security or bodyguards?

No. We are a chauffeur service, not a security company. We do not supply armed drivers or bodyguards. If you travel with a security team, our chauffeurs work alongside it and follow its direction on routes and timing.

Will there be alcohol or refreshments on board?

We never promise alcohol on board. Local law applies and varies widely, and in some places it is restricted in commercial vehicles. Water and phone chargers are in most vehicles. If you want something specific, ask the desk before the trip.

Is smoking allowed in the vehicle?

No. Vehicles are non-smoking. Please also do not use e-cigarettes or vapes inside.

Does the chauffeur act as a tour guide?

A chauffeur drives and can suggest stops, but a chauffeur is not a licensed guide. Where a site requires or recommends a licensed guide, such as the Vatican, Pompeii, the Acropolis, the Alhambra or the Forbidden City, we say so and can help you arrange it. See private tours with a driver for how chauffeured sightseeing works.

What happens if something goes wrong on the day?

Call the desk. It is staffed around the clock and has the booking in front of it. If the vehicle is delayed, the desk contacts the operator and, where needed, assigns another. For flight changes or missed connections, tell the desk as early as possible.

I run a chauffeur company. Can I join the directory?

Operators who hold the proper commercial licence, carry commercial insurance, field experienced background-checked chauffeurs and run late-model vehicles can apply. The full standard is on the join the directory page.
