Private driver Mexico and Latin America: licensed transport only
In much of Latin America and the Caribbean, the most useful thing a chauffeur service can promise is that the vehicle, the driver and the insurance are legitimate. Airport arrival halls in some destinations are crowded with sellers of rides and tours, and local rules about who may pick up where are contested and change often. That is the reason this regional page in the LimousineWorldwideDirectory.com directory exists. It gathers every Latin American and Caribbean page we have written and explains how a booking works when the first priority is a licensed operator.
Behind every reservation is a desk, that answers around the clock. The local chauffeur operators in the directory are vetted, licensed and commercially insured, and the desk books, confirms and invoices every ride they deliver. You get one confirmation, one invoice and one contact, in English, whichever of these countries you land in. Cars are late-model, maintained and inspected, at most four model years old, or seven for Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach. The classes are Executive Sedan, First Class Sedan, Luxury SUV and Executive Sprinter, with mini-coach and coach on request.
What is a pre-booked transfer in Latin America?

A pre-booked transfer is a private vehicle reserved before you travel, with a named driver, a tracked flight and a fixed fare quoted in advance. It avoids the arrival-hall sellers, the on-the-spot negotiation and the uncertainty about which operators are licensed for your pickup.
The differences from a taxi are practical. The driver is waiting when you clear customs, the price is agreed before you leave home, and the desk is reachable if the flight is late. International arrivals include 60 minutes of free waiting after landing, and a name-board meet-and-greet inside arrivals can be added, with an alias on the board for privacy. For rules and detail, read the airport car service page.

- Cancun chauffeur service: the hotel zone, the Riviera Maya and the Yucatan interior.
- Los Cabos chauffeur service: the corridor between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, and the resorts around them.
- Sao Paulo chauffeur service: a business city with long distances and heavy traffic.

- Punta Cana chauffeur service: the Dominican Republic's resort coast.
Mexico: Mexico City, Cancun and Los Cabos
Mexico City has more than one airport used by airlines. Mexico City International is the main one, and the official AICM site carries its information in Spanish. A second airport, Felipe Angeles, sits much farther out: one transfer operator gives about 50 km to Polanco, against roughly 18 km from the main airport. Check which airport your ticket names. From Mexico City International to Polanco, expect about 18 km and 20 to 30 minutes by car, depending on the hour.
Cancun International is the gateway for the Riviera Maya. The road south passes Playa del Carmen about 55 km from the airport, and the drive takes roughly 50 minutes. In Quintana Roo, rules on app-based transport and taxi unions have changed several times and been contested, which is why many visitors avoid the question and book a licensed transfer in advance.
| Choice | Distance and time | Cost note | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fixed-fare chauffeur | About 55 km, roughly 50 minutes to Playa del Carmen | Fixed fare via the booker | Families, groups, anyone with luggage or a late arrival |
| Shared shuttle | Same road, longer because of several hotel stops | Lower than private | Light packers who can wait |
| Public coach | Runs to a town terminal, not your hotel door | Lowest | Budget travelers with one bag who do not mind a second leg |
If you are traveling alone with a carry-on and your hotel is close to the bus terminal, the coach is the lowest-cost choice and a perfectly reasonable one. The private car wins as soon as there are two or more travelers, children or heavy bags.
In Los Cabos, the airport sits inland near San Jose del Cabo. The drive to Cabo San Lucas is about 38 to 44 km, and takes roughly 40 minutes. The Cabo arch visitor guide covers the waterfront, and a sunset arrival at one of the resorts is the typical request.
Entry procedure is Mexico's to set. Visitors receive a tourist immigration record (the FMM), and the procedure has been changing. Check the National Institute of Migration for the current procedure for your passport before you travel.
Brazil and Argentina: Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires
Sao Paulo Guarulhos has three passenger terminals according to the airport's own site. The drive to Avenida Paulista is about 30 km, roughly 44 minutes outside rush hour, and weekday mornings and evenings can be much slower. Because the traffic decides everything in Sao Paulo, many executives book an hourly day, with a car and driver at their disposal. See hourly chauffeur service.

Entry rules changed recently. Since 10 April 2025, citizens of the United States, Canada and Australia traveling to Brazil for tourism or business need an e-Visa, according to the Brazilian consulate in Miami. Apply only through the official portal named on that page. Other nationalities should check their own rules.
Buenos Aires has two airports. Ezeiza is about 32 km from the city center and takes about 50 minutes, according to the city's official tourism site. The domestic airport, Aeroparque, is in the Palermo neighborhood within the city, about 25 minutes from the main hotels.
The Caribbean: Punta Cana
Punta Cana's airport serves the resort coast of the eastern Dominican Republic. Distances to the hotels depend on which one you are staying in: the airport to the Bavaro area is roughly 16 to 27 km, and usually around 20 minutes. Give the exact hotel name in the booker, because the resort strip is long. The Dominican Republic's official tourism site links to its entry requirements page. For day trips, the Saona Island guide covers the boat excursion, and hotel groups often book a Sprinter van with driver for wedding parties.
Hurricane season and flight changes
The Atlantic hurricane season officially runs from 1 June to 30 November, and it touches Cancun, Punta Cana and the wider Caribbean. Los Cabos faces the Pacific, where its own season runs through a similar period. Most trips in those months are untroubled, but a storm can cancel flights and close roads for a day or two. When one is forecast, tell the desk. We track flights anyway, so a delay or a diversion reaches your driver without a phone call from you, and if your plan changes the desk can re-time or re-route the pickup. Cancellation terms are the standard ones, measured from the scheduled pickup time, and the desk will talk you through them before you decide.
Altitude and distance matter in the other direction. Mexico City sits high and sprawls, and a cross-town meeting can take far longer than the map suggests. Sao Paulo does the same with traffic. In both cities an hourly booking with one driver for the day usually beats several single transfers, because the car waits and the schedule can flex.
Weddings, groups and corporate retreats
Resort destinations in this region are wedding and incentive-travel destinations, and the group logistics are what a chauffeur desk does best. Guests land on different flights at different hours. The desk can stage a fleet of Luxury SUVs and Sprinters, meet each arrival, and send each party to the right resort. See wedding limo service for destination weddings and event transportation for galas. Corporate retreats can use corporate car service with monthly invoicing and cost-center codes.

Sightseeing by chauffeur across the region
A private driver turns a long travel day into a short one, because many of the best sights sit hours from the airport. Our visitor guides cover them one by one, and the attractions hub lists everything.

Drivers can propose stops, but they are not guides. Where a site requires or recommends a licensed guide, a guide is a separate professional. Read how it works in private tours with driver.
Booking, tourist offices and discretion
Open the online booker, enter pickup and drop-off, add the flight number and choose a vehicle class. The fixed fare appears in the booker before payment, so this directory carries no prices. Corporate accounts offer monthly invoicing, and travel agents, DMCs and hotel concierges can hold trade accounts. Tourism boards and visitor bureaus can book for their visitors through a trade account as well; see the Latin America and Caribbean tourist offices page.
Chauffeurs keep trips private: no photographs, no posts, NDAs on request and alias names for the reservation. Armed drivers and bodyguards are outside what we do. Our chauffeurs drive, and a client's own security team handles protection. We do not promise drinks on board, and local law governs. Continue to the worldwide directory or to why clients book with us.

Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to use a private driver in Mexico?
Choosing a licensed, insured operator and booking in advance reduces common transport risks, such as unlicensed vehicles and on-the-spot negotiation at arrivals. The desk assigns a vetted local operator and confirms the driver and vehicle details in writing.
How far is Cancun airport from Playa del Carmen?
About 55 km, and roughly 50 minutes by road. A shared shuttle takes longer because of hotel stops, and the public coach goes to a town terminal rather than to your hotel.
How far is Los Cabos airport from Cabo San Lucas?
About 38 to 44 km depending on the hotel, and roughly 40 minutes. The airport is near San Jose del Cabo, so the corridor road is the same for most resorts.
How far is Mexico City airport from Polanco?
About 18 km and 20 to 30 minutes by road, depending on the hour. If your ticket names Felipe Angeles airport instead, the distance is much longer: one transfer operator quotes about 50 km.
How far is Sao Paulo Guarulhos from Avenida Paulista?
About 30 km, and around 44 minutes outside rush hour. Weekday mornings and evenings can be much slower, so allow a buffer for flights and meetings.
Do I need a visa for Brazil?
Citizens of the United States, Canada and Australia need an e-Visa for tourism or business since 10 April 2025, per the Brazilian consulate in Miami. Check the official portal and your own passport's rules.
How far is Buenos Aires Ezeiza from the city?
About 32 km, and around 50 minutes, according to the city's official tourism site. The domestic Aeroparque airport sits inside the city, about 25 minutes from the main hotels.
Can you meet my group at the airport?
Yes. We track each flight, and a name-board meet-and-greet inside arrivals can be added to any pickup. Large groups can use Executive Sprinters, mini-coaches or coaches on request.
What if a storm disrupts my flight?
Tell the desk. We track flights, so a delay or diversion reaches your driver, and the desk can re-time or re-route the pickup. Cancellation terms are explained at booking.
