A Fort Lauderdale limo service built around the airport that touches the port
Fort Lauderdale is unusual: the airport and the cruise port are neighbors. Port Everglades describes itself as the only port in the nation adjacent to an airport, which is why a flight-and-cruise day is possible here and not in many other cities. It also means the city's transport problems are different. They are not about distance, they are about timing, security checkpoints, boat-show weeks and which of three port entrances to use.
LimousineWorldwideDirectory.com books a Fort Lauderdale limo service and Ft Lauderdale car service for these situations through a 24/7 desk. A vetted, licensed and commercially insured local chauffeur operator from our worldwide directory delivers each ride, and the desk books, confirms and invoices it: one booking, one confirmation, one invoice, one point of contact. Trips inside the United States use US-licensed operators.
How do I book a car service in Fort Lauderdale?

Use the online booker: enter your pickup address or flight number, your drop-off (hotel, port terminal or marina) and a vehicle. It shows the exact fixed fare before you confirm. A licensed Fort Lauderdale chauffeur is assigned, flights are tracked, and you receive one confirmation and one invoice.
Corporate accounts with monthly invoicing, and trade accounts for travel agents, DMCs, yacht brokers and hotel concierges, use the same desk. For the worldwide standard, see our chauffeur service and limo service pages.
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International (FLL)
FLL sits between Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood, a short drive from Las Olas Boulevard, the beach, Hollywood and the port. It has four terminals, and pickups depend on the airline, so your chauffeur is told your terminal from the flight number at confirmation. Flights are tracked on every airport pickup. Free waiting is 60 minutes after an international landing and 30 minutes after a domestic one, and a name-board meet and greet inside arrivals is available as an add-on, with an alias on the board if you prefer privacy.
Our dedicated Fort Lauderdale airport page covers terminal-by-terminal detail. For the service in general, see airport car service and the airports hub. Visit Lauderdale, the destination board, lists the airport and cruise port information at Visit Lauderdale.

Port Everglades cruise transfers
Port Everglades has three entrances: SE 17th Street at Eisenhower Boulevard, State Road 84 just east of US 1 at Spangler Boulevard, and I-595 East at Eller Drive. Each has a security checkpoint where guests 18 and older must show government-issued photo ID and cruise documents (Port Everglades getting here). Your chauffeur chooses the entrance closest to your terminal and the traffic on the day. The port also advises allowing at least 45 minutes between flight arrival at FLL and cruise check-in, because it takes time to claim bags and fill out forms. In practice we recommend booking a later cruise check-in, not an early one.

The port describes itself as one of the three busiest cruise homeports in the world, and the terminals are numbered (terminals such as 2, 4, 18, 19, 21, 25, 26 and 29 appear on its terminal pages). Disney Cruise Line announced on October 7, 2026 that the Disney Believe will homeport in Fort Lauderdale beginning in December 2027. Give us your ship name and sailing date and we confirm the terminal.
The lower-cost option here is real: the port lists an average airport-to-port taxi fare of $18 to $21 as of 2026, subject to change. If you are traveling light and the port is your only stop, a taxi costs less. A chauffeur is the better choice with several bags, a group, a late arrival or a morning-after-cruise onward trip to Miami, Palm Beach or Orlando. Read more on cruise transfers and our Port Everglades page. If you are connecting from PortMiami or Miami International, the port notes that MIA is 30 to 45 minutes south of Port Everglades by I-95.
The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show and yacht-crew transfers
The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, which its organizers call the largest in-water boat show in the world, returns October 28 to November 1, 2026 (FLIBS). It spreads across several waterfront venues in the city and brings road closures, event shuttles and a hotel squeeze for the whole week. Plan airport and hotel pickups early, expect extra time on A1A and near the convention center, and give us the exact venue entrance and marina name.
Yacht travel is a year-round feature of Fort Lauderdale. Owners, brokers, charter guests and crew arrive at FLL and need rides to marinas, provisioning stops and a hotel. Chauffeurs handle luggage, provisioning pickups and last-minute crew changes with a single point of contact. Flight tracking, early or late pickups and corporate invoicing are standard, and the same booking can cover crew and guests. For groups, see event transportation and the events hub.
Black car service: Las Olas, downtown and Broward County
Business travel in Fort Lauderdale centers on downtown and Las Olas Boulevard, the beach hotels along A1A, the Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center beside the port, and the Hollywood area around the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. North of the county line, Boca Raton and Palm Beach hold the wealth-management and family-office clients; see the Worth Avenue guide and the Palm Beach private aviation page for that part of the coast.
Many guests book an hourly chauffeur service block of four, six or ten hours to cover meetings between Fort Lauderdale and Miami, or a corporate car service account. See the black car service page and the fleet for vehicle classes; a Luxury SUV (Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon Denali or similar, up to 6) is the usual choice for families with cruise luggage.
Rail and private aviation
Two rail services run through the county. Tri-Rail lists stations at Fort Lauderdale and at Fort Lauderdale Airport, with service north to West Palm Beach and south to MiamiCentral (Tri-Rail). Brightline also serves downtown Fort Lauderdale on the Miami to Orlando line. Rail is the low-cost and punctual choice for solo travelers along the coast, and a chauffeur suits those with luggage or a door-to-door schedule. See train station transfers.

For private aviation, Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE) is the main general-aviation field, with FLL also used by charter flights. Operators and ramp arrangements change, so give us the airport, operator and tail number at booking, and your chauffeur meets you at the FBO door or ramp where permitted. See the private jet car service page and the private aviation hub.
Beaches, A1A and day trips
- Fort Lauderdale Beach and A1A. Visit Lauderdale promotes the A1A scenic highway and a water taxi guide for moving around the waterways; a chauffeur is useful for the long beach-hotel stretches between them.
- Miami and South Beach. About 30 miles (48 km); see the South Beach guide and the Miami limo service. For December art fairs, see Art Basel Miami Beach.
- Everglades. About 65 miles (105 km) to the park's main entrance; read the Everglades National Park guide.
- Key West. About 190 miles (305 km) via the Overseas Highway; see the Key West guide.
- Orlando and Tampa. About 210 miles (340 km) to Orlando; see the Orlando limo service and the Tampa limo service.
Private tours with driver explains stops, and long-distance car service covers one-way runs. Fort Lauderdale airport transfer compared with the alternatives
| Option | Time from FLL | Cost note | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Taxi to Port Everglades | 10 to 20 minutes | Metered, with a published average | Single travelers with one bag |
| Rideshare | 10 to 25 minutes | Surge-priced at peak times | Light bags, flexible timing |
| Tri-Rail (Fort Lauderdale Airport station) | Varies with schedule | Lowest | Solo travelers along the coast |
| Rental car | 15 to 30 minutes, plus pickup | Metered plus parking | Visitors touring Florida |
| Private chauffeur | 10 to 25 minutes | Fixed fare via the booker | Groups, cruise guests, executives, crew |
Traffic, storms and timing
I-95, I-595, US 1 and A1A carry most of the congestion. Weekday evenings, boat-show week and cruise-embarkation Saturdays and Sundays are the busiest periods, and summer afternoon thunderstorms can briefly slow the roads. Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30; if an advisory affects your booking, the desk contacts you with options. A flight-and-cruise day works best with a late check-in window, a chauffeur waiting at baggage claim, and bags pre-tagged by the cruise line.
Vehicles, waiting time and cancellation
The usual Fort Lauderdale choices are the Executive Sedan (Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Cadillac CT6 or Lyriq or similar, up to 3 passengers), the First Class Sedan (Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series or similar), the Luxury SUV and the Executive Sprinter (Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, 12 to 14 passengers, 12 bags). Stretch limousine, mini-coach and coach are available on request, and Maybach, Rolls-Royce and Bentley on request, with availability confirmed at booking. Child, toddler and booster seats are available on request. Most vehicles carry water and phone chargers. We never promise drinks on board; local law applies. For celebrations, see the wedding limo service page.
Free waiting is 15 minutes on non-airport pickups. Cancellation is free with more than 72 hours' notice; 72 hours or less is 10%, 48 hours or less is 50%, and 24 hours or less or a no-show is 100%, measured from the scheduled pickup time. Large events, including boat-show week, may carry a different deadline, stated on the confirmation. Chauffeurs do not photograph clients or post about trips, NDAs are signed on request, and alias bookings are accepted. We are a chauffeur service, not a security company.
