What is the best way to book a Houston limo service?
Pre-book a Houston limo service through LimousineWorldwideDirectory.com: a vetted, licensed local chauffeur operator tracks your flight into IAH or Hobby, knows the Beltway 8 and Katy Freeway pinch points, and charges the fixed fare you saw in the online booker before you confirmed. One desk handles changes around the clock.
Houston sprawls, and it has no single center. The Medical Center, Downtown, the Galleria and Uptown, the Energy Corridor, The Woodlands and Sugar Land are each business centers in their own right, separated by 20 to 40 km of freeway. A chauffeur here is not a luxury if your day has four appointments in three districts; it is the only way to keep the schedule honest.
This page is the directory entry for limo and chauffeur service across Greater Houston: Bush Intercontinental, Hobby and Ellington, the Port of Galveston, the districts and their businesses, the energy and medical conference calendar, Space Center Houston, and the long runs to Austin, San Antonio, Dallas and New Orleans.
How a Houston ride is booked and delivered
LimousineWorldwideDirectory.com runs a 24/7 booking desk. In Texas we do not own vehicles. A vetted, licensed and commercially insured chauffeur operator from our worldwide directory delivers each ride, and our desk books, confirms and invoices it, so you get one confirmation, one invoice and one number to call.

Chauffeurs are experienced professionals and vehicles are late-model, fully maintained and inspected, no more than four model years old (Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach up to seven). The Luxury SUV is the most requested class in Houston because of luggage and heat; Executive Sprinters carry 12 to 14 passengers for oilfield and hospital teams. See the fleet page for capacities.
George Bush Intercontinental (IAH), Hobby (HOU) and Ellington
The Houston Airport System operates IAH, William P. Hobby (HOU) and Ellington (EFD); its site is fly2houston.com. IAH is the larger international gateway to the north; Hobby is the older, closer field southeast of Downtown. Distances matter more than names here.
| Airport to | Distance | Typical drive |
|---|---|---|
| IAH to Downtown | about 37 km (23 mi) | 30 to 70 minutes |
| IAH to the Galleria | about 45 km (28 mi) | 40 to 80 minutes |
| IAH to The Woodlands | about 35 km (22 mi) | 30 to 55 minutes |
| Hobby to Downtown | about 18 km (11 mi) | 20 to 45 minutes |
| Hobby to Space Center Houston | about 27 km (17 mi) | 25 to 45 minutes |
| Hobby to the Port of Galveston | about 66 to 72 km (41 to 45 mi) | 45 to 70 minutes |
We give 60 minutes of free waiting after landing on international arrivals and 30 minutes on domestic ones, and a name-board meet-and-greet inside arrivals can be added. Your confirmation contains the current meeting point because IAH and Hobby each have their own rules for permitted ground operators, and our operators follow them. We do not yet have separate airport pages for Houston; for the general method, see the airports hub and the airport car service page.
Cruise days: the Port of Galveston
Galveston is the main cruise port for Texas. The port's own site says it has four terminals and serves almost 4 million cruise passengers a year, with talks under way for a fifth terminal at Pier 14. Cruise-industry guides put the port roughly 41 to 45 miles (66 to 72 km) from Hobby and 70 to 75 miles (113 to 120 km) from IAH, typically 45 to 70 minutes from Hobby and about 75 minutes from IAH without traffic. Because IAH is on the north side, the trip crosses Houston. Disembarkation mornings and holiday weekends add traffic on I-45.
Read our Port of Galveston transportation page for terminal and timing detail, the port's own site for notices, and the cruise transfers page for the process. The cruise ports hub lists other terminals on the Gulf Coast and beyond.
Private aviation and the business fields
Houston's business-aviation traffic splits among Hobby, Ellington, Sugar Land Regional and several smaller fields, depending on whether a principal is headed to the Energy Corridor, the Galleria or the Medical Center. Tell the desk the field, FBO name and arrival time. The private aviation hub explains how chauffeurs meet clients at the FBO, and the private jet car service page describes handler coordination.

Where Houston businesses sit
- Downtown. Law firms, banks and the convention center; Discovery Green is a pickup landmark.
- Texas Medical Center. Hospitals and research; patients and visiting physicians need predictable timing.
- Galleria and Uptown. Hotels, shopping, finance.
- Energy Corridor. West of Beltway 8, oil and gas offices.
- The Woodlands. Northern corporate campus and resort area.
- Sugar Land and the southwest. Residential, corporate and aviation.
- Clear Lake and NASA Road 1. Space and aerospace.
Houston's toll roads, including the Sam Houston Tollway and parts of the Grand Parkway, use electronic tags. The operator handles tolls on its route and the invoice comes from our desk. After heavy rain, freeway underpasses and feeder roads can flood quickly, and a chauffeur will choose an alternative if one is available. Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30, and we contact you if a storm threatens your travel date.
Energy, medical and convention weeks
Houston's calendar is built on industry: oil-and-gas conferences, medical congresses, and the rodeo. The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is usually held in late February and March at NRG Park, the Offshore Technology Conference is usually held in May at NRG Park, and CERAWeek is usually held in March in Downtown. Dates move, so check with the organizers. During those weeks, hotels near Downtown and NRG Park fill, and ride queues lengthen.
Our conference transportation page explains multi-vehicle programs, and the conferences hub lists shows worldwide. The events hub and the event transportation service page cover fixtures with confirmed dates. For executive visits that touch several cities, see the roadshow car service page.
Space Center Houston and Houston attractions
Space Center Houston sits at 1601 E NASA Parkway, about 25 to 26 miles (40 to 42 km) southeast of Downtown and typically 30 minutes by car in light traffic. The visitor center sells tickets online; confirm hours and tickets on spacecenter.org before you go. Allow half a day to a full day, because the tram tour and exhibit halls are separate stages.

Visit Houston, the city's official tourism site, lists the Museum District, Discovery Green, the Houston Zoo and Sawyer Yards (Visit Houston). Official tourist offices and visitor bureaus can book chauffeur services for their visitors through a trade account; see the tourist offices page.
How the options compare from Hobby or IAH to Downtown
| Option | Time | Cost note | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| METRO bus | 45 to 90 minutes | Lowest | Light travelers with no schedule |
| Taxi | 20 to 70 minutes | Metered | Walk-up trips |
| Rideshare | 20 to 70 minutes | Surge-priced at peaks | Short, one-off trips |
| Rental car | 20 to 70 minutes | Plus parking | Several days of independent driving |
| Private chauffeur | 20 to 70 minutes | Fixed fare via the booker | Groups, luggage, meetings, VIPs |
Public transit covers only part of the places business visitors go, so the realistic choices are usually taxi, rideshare, rental car or chauffeur. A chauffeur is best when you have multiple appointments, a group, heat and luggage, or an early morning flight.
Long-distance chauffeur runs from Houston
| Destination | Distance | Typical drive |
|---|---|---|
| Galveston | about 80 km (50 mi) | 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes |
| Austin | about 265 km (165 mi) | 2 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours 30 minutes |
| San Antonio | about 320 km (200 mi) | 3 hours to 3 hours 45 minutes |
| Dallas | about 385 km (240 mi) | 3 hours 30 minutes to 4 hours 30 minutes |
| New Orleans | about 560 km (350 mi) | 5 hours 30 minutes to 6 hours 30 minutes |
See the Austin limo service, Dallas limo service and New Orleans limo service pages for the other ends. For a day out, The Alamo and San Antonio River Walk is a three-hour drive each way, Texas Hill Country wineries are about 395 km (245 mi) away and The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza in Dallas is a longer run. The long-distance car service page explains how multi-hour trips are staffed, and private tours with a driver shows how itineraries are built.
Corporate accounts and discretion
Corporate accounts with monthly invoicing suit energy, healthcare and engineering firms; see the corporate car service and executive chauffeur service pages. Trade accounts serve travel agents, DMCs and hotel concierges; see travel trade. Chauffeurs do not photograph clients or post about trips, NDAs are signed on request, and alias bookings are available. We are a chauffeur service, not a security company. For other cities, see the North America directory or the global chauffeur service page.
Heat, rain and the Houston driving day
Houston's operating conditions are a planning issue, not an afterthought. Summer heat means vehicles are cooled before you arrive, so we ask clients to give an accurate pickup time rather than an early guess. Afternoon storms can drop visibility on the freeways within minutes, and flooded underpasses on the Southwest Freeway, the Gulf Freeway and several feeder roads are a recurring cause of detours. Chauffeurs follow live conditions and reroute; they will not enter water, and we would rather arrive late than not at all.
The freeway map helps explain the rest. Interstate 610 circles the inner city, Beltway 8 circles the middle ring, and the Grand Parkway forms the outer ring. I-45 runs north to The Woodlands and south to Galveston, US 59 runs southwest to Sugar Land and northeast toward the airport corridor, I-10 is the Katy Freeway westward, and US 290 heads northwest. A trip between the Energy Corridor and the Medical Center crosses the city on the 610 West Loop or Beltway 8 and usually takes 45 to 75 minutes at midday.
Because of that scale, a typical corporate day is built around one vehicle and one chauffeur who stays with the principal. The chauffeur knows where each building's drop-off is and holds nearby. The booker shows the fixed fare for the vehicle and stops you choose.
