How do I book a chauffeur service in Doha?
Enter your pickup, destination, date and vehicle class in the online booker. You see a fixed fare for those exact addresses before you confirm. A vetted, licensed and insured Doha operator then drives the trip, and our worldwide desk handles confirmation, changes and the invoice around the clock.
Doha moves in a rhythm that visitors can miss. Midday on Friday the city is quiet for prayers, the weekend falls on Friday and Saturday, and Thursday and Sunday evenings fill the roads with people leaving the office and heading to the Corniche or the malls. A chauffeur who works these patterns daily keeps your schedule on time without making it feel managed.
LimousineWorldwideDirectory.com does not own vehicles or offices in Qatar. We list vetted, licensed and commercially insured chauffeur operators in our Middle East directory, and our desk books, confirms and invoices every ride. One booking, one confirmation, one invoice and one point of contact, at any hour.
Friday, Saturday, Ramadan and dress: read this before you plan
Qatar's weekend is Friday and Saturday. Business slows on Friday around midday prayers, when the official Visit Qatar travel tips note that commercial activity shuts for the prayer period, with many shops closed on Friday and malls opening in the afternoon. Embassies are closed Friday and Saturday. Schedule meetings and airport pickups with that in mind, and ask hosts which days they observe.

Dress is relaxed for visitors but modest. Visit Qatar advises covering shoulders and knees and avoiding revealing clothing in public. Many Qatari men and women do not shake hands with the opposite sex, so wait for the other person to offer. Public displays of affection are frowned upon, and smoking is banned in public spaces. Read the Visit Qatar travel tips before your first trip.
During Ramadan, expected in February and March 2027 with exact dates set by moon sighting, visitors are expected not to eat, drink or smoke in public in daylight hours. Hotels keep restaurants out of public view, working hours shorten, and traffic peaks around sunset before iftar. Nights are lively and shops stay open late. The Eid holidays after Ramadan are the busiest travel days of the year for Hamad International. Alcohol is served only in licensed hotels, Qatar has zero tolerance for driving after drinking, and we never promise drinks on board.
Visit Qatar says visitors from 102 nationalities can enter visa-free, with an e-visa for the rest. Entry rules change, so confirm yours on the official Visit Qatar site before you fly.
How far is Hamad International Airport from central Doha?
Hamad International Airport (DOH) is about 15 km (9 miles) southeast of central Doha. The drive to West Bay or the Corniche takes 15 to 30 minutes. The Pearl is about 25 km (16 miles) away, and Lusail about 35 km (22 miles), 30 to 45 minutes depending on traffic.
Hamad is a single large terminal with a large arrivals hall. The airport's own site lists taxi, limousine, metro, bus, car rental and ride-hailing options, and a meet-and-greet service in the arrivals area; see Hamad International's website for current details. Our chauffeur tracks your flight, so a late landing does not cost you the car, and international arrivals include 60 minutes of free waiting. If you want a name board in arrivals, add a meet and greet; an alias on the board is available for privacy.
| From Hamad (DOH) to | Distance | Typical drive time | Notes |

Where in Doha do you need to be? Districts and hotels
- West Bay. Glass towers, embassies, the Corniche and most five-star hotels. Heavy at 8 a.m. and from 4 to 7 p.m.
- Msheireb Downtown and Souq Waqif. The restored old center. Streets close to cars around the souq, so agree a drop-off point on a main road.
- The Pearl-Qatar. An island development of marinas, apartments and restaurants, reached by a limited number of access roads that back up on weekend evenings.
- Lusail. The new city to the north, with the stadium, the boulevard and the circuit. Roads are wide but event days bring closures.
- Education City and Al Waab. University campuses, the library and sports venues to the west.
- Aspire Zone and Doha Sports City. Stadiums and the Khalifa International complex.
Give the desk the hotel name and entrance. Large hotels have separate arrivals ramps, and guests with security detail sometimes need a specific gate.
Souq Waqif, the Museum of Islamic Art and Katara by chauffeur
Three places define a first visit, and each has a drop-off quirk.

- Souq Waqif: the main lanes are pedestrian. The car drops you at the edge and meets you at an agreed gate. Evenings and weekends are crowded, and lunchtime on Friday is quiet.
- Museum of Islamic Art: on its own park island on the Corniche, 15 to 25 minutes from Hamad and 5 to 10 minutes from West Bay. Check closing days and last entry before you go.
- Katara Cultural Village: a cultural district on the coast between West Bay and The Pearl, with an amphitheater and a mosque. Visit Qatar names Katara and Souq Waqif among the city's iconic places on its official tourism site.
A comfortable half-day runs from the museum to the souq for lunch and Katara at sunset. See the private tours with driver page and the attractions directory. Where a site requires or recommends a licensed guide, we say so on the individual page.
Race weekends, concerts and big event days at Lusail
Lusail International Circuit hosts motorsport on a large scale, including the Qatar Grand Prix, normally in the late fall, and stadium events draw large crowds to Lusail. Visit Qatar lists the circuit among its major venues. On event days, roads around Lusail close early, and the exit after the final session takes a long time. We recommend fixing both the arrival and the departure times, giving the desk your gate and parking pass details, and leaving a margin. See event transportation and the events hub for how we coordinate group arrivals.
For comparison, the Abu Dhabi round of the season is covered in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix guide, and the Emirates capital is a short flight away. Our Abu Dhabi chauffeur service and Dubai chauffeur service pages cover the other Gulf cities.
Business in Doha: forums, conferences and corporate accounts
Doha's business calendar centers on forums and trade shows at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center, hotels in West Bay and Lusail venues. Typical anchors include the Qatar Economic Forum, usually held in May, and technology events that run in the winter. Dates are set by organizers, so confirm them on the organizer's site.
For delegations, we give one point of contact and a rotation of vehicles from Hamad. Companies can open a corporate account with monthly invoicing, named travelers and alias bookings; see corporate car service, conference transportation and the conferences hub. Roadshow schedules with several meetings in a day work well as an hourly booking; see roadshow car service.
Doha roads and when to leave early
Doha is a grid of ring roads and expressways, and the city is under constant construction. The Corniche and the roads into West Bay jam on weekday mornings and evenings. Thursday and Saturday nights are busy toward The Pearl, Lusail and the malls. Friday mornings are the quietest time to move across the city, and the hour around midday prayers is slow for services but easy on the road. Chauffeurs follow speed limits and the many cameras, and keep to the posted rules at pedestrian crossings.
The Corniche is sometimes closed or restricted for national events, parades and races, usually announced a few days ahead. Your driver will route around closures, but a longer trip should leave a margin.
Cruise, metro and getting around without a car
Cruise ships call at Old Doha Port in the cooler months, roughly October to April. The port is beside the Corniche at the edge of the old center, 5 to 15 minutes from Souq Waqif and 20 to 30 minutes from West Bay by car. See cruise transfers and the cruise ports hub.
Doha Metro has three lines, Red, Green and Gold, and the Red Line serves Hamad Airport. Lusail has a tram. There is no intercity passenger railway, so travel to other cities is by road. For rail elsewhere, see train station transfers and the train stations hub.
| Option | Typical time from DOH to West Bay | Cost note | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Metro | 30 to 45 minutes plus walk | Lowest | Light luggage, hotel near a station |
| Taxi | 15 to 30 minutes | Metered | Short trips, easy queue |
| Rideshare | 15 to 30 minutes | Surge-priced at peak | Solo travelers with a phone |
| Rental car | 15 to 30 minutes | Daily rate plus parking | Self-drivers staying several days |
| Private chauffeur | 15 to 30 minutes | Fixed fare via the booker | Groups, late arrivals, VIPs, scheduled meetings |
For a single traveler with a carry-on and a hotel beside a Metro stop, the Metro is the lowest-cost, sensible choice. A chauffeur is better with luggage, with colleagues, with children, or when you have an appointment at a fixed time. See why book with us.
Beyond Doha: day trips and long-distance runs
| Route | Distance | Typical drive time | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Doha to Al Wakrah | 15 to 20 km / 9 to 12 mi | 20 to 30 minutes | Old souq and beach |
| Doha to Al Khor | 55 km / 34 mi | 45 to 60 minutes | Coastal town and mangroves |
| Doha to Al Zubarah Fort | 105 km / 65 mi | 1 hour 15 to 1 hour 30 | Archaeological site in the northwest |
| Doha to Mesaieed | 45 km / 28 mi | 40 to 55 minutes | Industrial city and dunes |
| Doha to the Inland Sea (Khor Al Adaid) | 80 km / 50 mi | 1 hour 15, then off-road | A 4x4 desert vehicle is required for the final stretch |
A standard chauffeur car cannot enter soft sand. For the Inland Sea, ask the desk to arrange a 4x4 with a trained desert driver for the final stretch. Cross-border trips, such as to Saudi Arabia, follow local border rules; tell the desk early. See long-distance car service.
Private clients, discretion and trade accounts
Chauffeurs do not photograph clients or post about trips. Alias bookings, NDAs on request and a single driver across your stay are routine for private-office and family-office clients. We are a chauffeur service, not a security company, so there are no armed drivers or bodyguards; we work with your security team if you travel with one. See HNWI and family-office chauffeur and VIP and celebrity chauffeur.

Travel agents, DMCs and hotel concierges can open a trade account. Official tourist offices, tourism boards and visitor bureaus can book chauffeur services for their visitors with LimousineWorldwideDirectory.com through a trade account; see travel trade and the tourist offices directory.
