Dubai World Central car service: where the airport is and what that means
Dubai World Central car service is a pre-booked chauffeur who meets a private aircraft at its FBO at Al Maktoum International Airport, in the Dubai South Aviation District, and drives to Dubai Marina, Palm Jumeirah, Downtown Dubai, Abu Dhabi or any other address in the UAE. The car is booked against the aircraft's arrival.
DWC is a long way from the places most passengers are going. Al Maktoum International lies south-west of the city near the border with Abu Dhabi, so a trip to Downtown Dubai is a drive of roughly 45 to 55 km (28 to 34 mi) rather than the 15-minute hop some travelers expect from Dubai International. The right plan accounts for that distance, for the time of day and for the toll gates on the way.
Bookings go through a desk that is staffed around the clock. The chauffeur in Dubai is a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local operator from our worldwide directory, and the desk books, confirms and invoices the ride, so a single confirmation and a single contact cover the whole transfer. The operator in Dubai is a licensed local professional.
Which FBOs operate at DWC?

Three FBOs describe a Dubai World Central operation on their own websites: Jetex, ExecuJet Middle East and Jet Aviation. Jet Aviation operates inside the shared VIP Terminal, which opened as an FBO in 2017. All three list 24-hour operation and customs and immigration support. Your aircraft operator confirms which one is yours.
The details they publish:
- Jetex: the Dubai South Jetex FBO Terminal, described by the company as a private VIP terminal at Al Maktoum International. The page lists 24/7 operations, FBO customs and immigration, an executive lounge and a crew lounge, direct ramp access, and a Rolls-Royce airside transfer. It also notes that DWC is an airport of entry with customs, that slots and handling are both required, and that runway 12/30 is 14,764 feet long.
- ExecuJet Middle East: the Al Maktoum FBO, listed as open 24 hours, with passenger and crew ground transportation, customs and immigration assistance, and several lounges. The page's pilot-information table carries Dubai International's codes by mistake, so confirm identifiers before filing a request.
- Jet Aviation: the Dubai DWC FBO, listed Monday to Sunday, 24 hours, with immigration and customs on the premises, passenger and crew transportation, hotel coordination, and a duty-free shop in the terminal.
FBOs and terminals at DWC have been expanded and reorganized over the years, and some operators also keep a facility at Dubai International. Ask the aircraft operator which airport and which terminal your flight uses, because a chauffeur sent to Dubai International for a DWC arrival is an error that costs an hour.
The handover at DWC
We ask for the airport (DWC or DXB), the FBO, the estimated arrival time, the aircraft registration if the operator will share it, and the passenger names. An alias can be put on the booking and the name board.
Jetex lists direct ramp access and a Rolls-Royce airside transfer, which is the FBO's own vehicle service. Whether our chauffeur's vehicle may enter the ramp, or meet the aircraft at a point beside it, is decided by the FBO, the aircraft operator and the airport's security rules, and we do not promise planeside access. We ask the FBO what is permitted, tell you before the day, and where the vehicle cannot go airside it waits at the terminal entrance.
International arrivals are cleared at the FBO. Entry rules for the UAE depend on nationality, and your charter operator or the UAE government's official sources will tell you what applies. Flight tracking covers every airport pickup. From landing, free waiting is 60 minutes for international arrivals and 30 for domestic ones; other pickups include 15.
Planeside access is a decision for the FBO and the aircraft operator. We do not promise it, and we tell you exactly what has been confirmed.
Distances and drive times from Al Maktoum
Distances are approximate road distances, with a typical off-peak time and a busy-hour range.
| Heading for | Distance | Time on the road | Comment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dubai Marina / JBR | about 30-35 km (19-22 mi) | 25-45 min | E11 Sheikh Zayed Road or the Jebel Ali approaches |
| Palm Jumeirah | about 35-40 km (22-25 mi) | 30-50 min | E11, then the Palm trunk road |
| Burj Al Arab / Umm Suqeim | about 40-45 km (25-28 mi) | 35-55 min | E11 |
| Downtown Dubai / Burj Khalifa / Dubai Mall | about 45-55 km (28-34 mi) | 40-70 min | E11 or Emirates Road; Business Bay toll gate |
| Dubai International (DXB) | about 55-65 km (34-40 mi) | 45-75 min | E11 or E311 |
| Abu Dhabi city | about 130-150 km (80-93 mi) | 1 hr 15 min to 1 hr 45 min | E11; cross-emirate |
These are estimates. The online booker uses your exact addresses and displays the fixed fare before you confirm. Friday afternoons and evenings, when the working week ends, fill Sheikh Zayed Road, and weekday rush hours between about 7 and 9 am and 5 and 8 pm add 20 to 30 minutes to a Downtown trip.
Salik toll gates
Dubai's roads are tolled by Salik, a free-flow system that reads a tag on the windscreen as the vehicle passes beneath a gate. Salik's own site lists ten gates, including Al Safa, Business Bay Crossing, Al Barsha, Al Garhoud Bridge, Al Maktoum Bridge, Al Mamzar, the Airport Tunnel and Jebel Ali. Which gates a trip passes depends on the route. The chauffeur's vehicle carries its own tag, so there is nothing for the passenger to arrange. We mention it so you are not surprised by the road toll appearing as a line on any account, and so the booker's fare can be read against the route.

Dubai by car from DWC
Most DWC arrivals head to one of six places, and each has its own arrival logic.
- Downtown Dubai. The Burj Khalifa guide and the Dubai Mall and Dubai Fountain guide cover visiting by car.
- Palm Jumeirah. The Palm Jumeirah guide covers the island by car.
- Burj Al Arab. The Burj Al Arab guide covers arrival by car.
- Desert and nature. The Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve guide covers the desert drive, a trip that begins south-east of the city.
- Abu Dhabi. About 130 to 150 km (80 to 93 mi) along the E11. The Louvre Abu Dhabi guide covers the museum, and the Abu Dhabi chauffeur service page covers the capital. For the F1 weekend, see the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix page.
- Business events. GITEX Global fills the city's hotels and roads.
For the city side of every trip, our Dubai chauffeur service page covers hotels, evenings, and the practical details of Dubai driving.
The Dubai Airshow and busy weeks at DWC
The Dubai Airshow is held at Dubai World Central every two years in November. The organizers' website gives 15 to 19 November 2027 for the next edition (Dubai Airshow). During that week the roads in and out of the airport fill with exhibitors, delegations and visitors. Book your transfers early, and give the desk the FBO and aircraft details as soon as you have them.
During the holy month of Ramadan, working hours and traffic patterns change. The desk adjusts pickup times accordingly.
DWC compared with Dubai International
Dubai International is the busy airline hub in the north-east of the city. For some trips it is the better airport, even for a private flight, because it is closer to Downtown and Business Bay. The comparison is below.

| Option | Time to Downtown | Cost note | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chauffeur from the DWC FBO, booked in advance | 40-70 min | Fixed fare via the booker | Private-jet passengers, families, delegations with luggage |
| Taxi from DWC | 40-70 min | Metered, long distance | One or two people with light bags; check availability at the terminal |
| Rental car | 40-70 min plus paperwork | Charged by the day, plus Salik and parking | Guests who plan to drive themselves |
| FBO crew car | Depends on the FBO | Usually for crew | Pilots and crew moving to a hotel |
| Dubai International (DXB) arrival instead | 20-45 min | Often the lowest airfare | Passengers on an airline itinerary; see our Dubai International page |
If you are alone and traveling light on a commercial flight, a metro or taxi from Dubai International is the lower-cost choice. The chauffeur is the better choice when you arrive on a private jet, when you travel with luggage or a group, and when the destination is a resort or villa at the other end of a long motorway. For Abu Dhabi arrivals see Zayed International.
Vehicles and capacity
The class is chosen at booking; the exact car is named on the confirmation, "or similar".
| Class | Typical models | Passengers | Bags |
|---|---|---|---|
| Executive Sedan | Mercedes-Benz E-Class or Cadillac CT6 / Lyriq | Up to 3 | Two large, two cabin |
| First Class Sedan | Mercedes-Benz S-Class or BMW 7 Series | Up to 3 | Two large, two cabin |
| Luxury SUV | Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Suburban or GMC Yukon Denali | Up to 6 | Five to six large |
| Executive Sprinter | Mercedes-Benz Sprinter | Up to 12-14 | Twelve |
The Luxury SUV is the usual choice for family arrivals at DWC. On request we can also arrange stretch limousines, mini-coaches, coaches and Maybach, Rolls-Royce or Bentley cars, with availability confirmed at booking. Cars are late-model, fully maintained and inspected: four model years at most, seven for Rolls-Royce, Bentley and Maybach. Child, toddler and booster seats can be requested, and most cars carry water and phone chargers. Alcohol is not promised in the car, and UAE law applies. See the fleet page.
Discretion, protocol and recurring programs
Private-jet clients in Dubai expect discretion, and our chauffeurs are briefed for it. They do not photograph passengers or post about trips, non-disclosure agreements are signed on request, and an alias can be used on the booking. Security is a separate service that we do not provide: we are a chauffeur company with no armed drivers or bodyguards, and we work alongside a client's own protection team. Dress and etiquette conventions apply, and the chauffeur is briefed accordingly.
Itineraries that cross continents stay on one desk, with one confirmation and one invoice. See our Geneva page for a typical onward leg, the private jet car service overview, and the private aviation hub. Companies can open a corporate account with monthly invoicing; travel agents, destination management companies and hotel concierges can open a trade account.
Changes and cancellations
If the aircraft is early or late, the chauffeur's arrival moves with it. Cancellation is measured from the scheduled pickup time: more than 72 hours' notice, no charge; 72 hours or less, 10%; 48 hours or less, 50%; 24 hours or less or a no-show, 100%. Large events, including the Dubai Airshow, may carry a different deadline, which your confirmation states. Trips that cross from Dubai into Abu Dhabi follow the rules of both emirates, and the desk assigns an operator with the right permissions.
Frequently asked questions
Where do private jets land in Dubai?
Many land at Al Maktoum International Airport at Dubai World Central, where Jetex, ExecuJet Middle East and Jet Aviation describe FBO operations. Some operators also keep a facility at Dubai International. Your aircraft operator confirms which airport and terminal.
How far is DWC from Downtown Dubai?
About 45 to 55 km (28 to 34 mi), a drive of 40 to 70 minutes depending on the route and the hour. Dubai Marina is about 30 to 35 km (19 to 22 mi), 25 to 45 minutes.
Can the car meet the aircraft on the ramp at DWC?
That depends on the FBO, the aircraft operator and airport security, and we do not promise it. Jetex lists direct ramp access and an airside Rolls-Royce transfer of its own. We ask the FBO and report back before the day.
Is there customs at the DWC FBOs?
Yes. Jetex, ExecuJet Middle East and Jet Aviation all list customs and immigration services at their Dubai World Central facilities. Confirm the details for your nationality and aircraft with your operator.
What is Salik?
It is Dubai's electronic road-toll system, with ten gates listed on its website. The chauffeur's vehicle has a tag, and the passenger does nothing. Which gates a trip passes depends on the route.
How long is the drive from DWC to Abu Dhabi?
About 130 to 150 km (80 to 93 mi), usually 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes by the E11. Cross-emirate trips follow the rules of both emirates; the desk handles that.
When is the next Dubai Airshow?
15 to 19 November 2027 at Dubai World Central, according to the organizers' website. It is held every two years, and hotels and roads are busy that week.
How do I get a price for a DWC transfer?
Go to the online booker. It shows a fixed fare for your exact FBO address, destination and vehicle before you confirm. Rates are not published.
