Can a limousine or chauffeured car drop off at Red Rocks Amphitheatre?
Yes. Red Rocks publishes a limousine procedure: limos and shuttle buses drop off at the Top Circle Lot, and rideshare, taxi and private car pickups happen in the Jurassic Lot just inside Entrance 2. Limos may also use the Upper North Lot at Traffic Control's discretion.
Red Rocks Amphitheatre is a natural rock-walled concert venue in Red Rocks Park at Morrison, Colorado, about 27 km (17 road miles) west of downtown Denver. It is owned and operated by the City and County of Denver, opened on June 15, 1941, and marks its 85th anniversary in 2026. It also doubles as a public park with trails, a visitor center and a trading post, which means there are two quite different ways to visit: a show night, with ticketed entry, closures, traffic control and about 10,000 people arriving at once, or an ordinary day, when the park is free to enter.
A chauffeur is most useful for the first. The venue's rules about where cars stop, how they leave and what happens after the show are specific and they change the quality of your night. This guide explains the published procedure, the road from Denver and the airport, and how to add a daytime tour. For the general format see our page on private tours with a driver, and for the wider list of event and venue guides see our events hub and the North America directory.
Where limos and private cars stop on show night
The venue's official Getting Here page lists three entrances. Passengers are dropped at the Top Circle Lot (Entrance 1) or at the Red Rocks Park Road and Trading Post Road intersection (Entrance 2). Passengers who need the accessible shuttle are dropped at the Upper South Lot (Entrance 3). Limos and shuttle buses use the Top Circle Lot, and limos may also drop in the Upper North Lot at Traffic Control's discretion.

For pickup, rideshares, taxis and private vehicles use the Jurassic Lot, just inside Entrance 2 off Highway 93. Guests walk downhill to meet their car, and the recommended route is the Will Call Trail across from the Trading Post and then down Red Rocks Park Road. Limo pickups after the 8:30 pm entry cutoff, or earlier at staff discretion, must happen in the Jurassic Lot. The venue runs limited complimentary shuttles after shows from the Top Circle Lot and the Trading Post to the Jurassic Lot, but says they loop slowly and that walking down the road is faster.
What this means in practice: agree on a meeting point before the show, with the exact lot, and tell your driver the likely end time. Phones are often busy when thousands of people leave at once, so a pre-agreed message such as 'at the Jurassic Lot' beats trying to describe your location.
Vehicle size, parking rules and large groups
Oversized vehicles, defined by the venue as 6 feet 5 inches wide or more, including RVs, buses, party-bus limos and any vehicle with a trailer, cannot be left overnight and must park in Lower South Lot 2. Large-capacity vehicles carrying 24 or more passengers, at least 85 percent full, can request a reservation for the Upper North Lot at least 48 hours ahead, though reservations are not guaranteed. Articulated and dual-deck buses must use Lower South Lot 2.
Our Luxury SUVs and sedans are comfortably within those limits. For an Executive Sprinter or a larger vehicle, the desk checks the dimensions and the venue's rules for your event date before confirming. Parking lots open two hours before door time, and traffic control directs you to a space after you enter the park. Vehicles parked incorrectly or left overnight may be ticketed or towed.
Tickets are sold through AXS and can be bought from the venue's event calendar. Box Office and Will Call open four hours before showtime. We do not sell tickets, and your booking with us covers the ride only.
The road from Denver, the airport and the mountains
The drive from downtown Denver to Red Rocks is about 17 road miles (27 km) and the venue describes the area as approximately 30 minutes from Denver. From Denver International Airport the distance is about 40 miles (65 km), and published estimates put the drive around 48 minutes to an hour in normal conditions. On a show night, traffic builds on the approaches to Morrison in the late afternoon, so leave downtown earlier than you would for a normal 30-minute trip.
Our Denver limo service page covers the city side. If you are arriving from another state, the airports hub lists the U.S. gateway pages. The mountain resorts are separate trips: see our guides to Vail Ski Resort, Aspen Snowmass and Rocky Mountain National Park for their routes from Denver.
What the venue expects of you
Red Rocks sits at 6,450 feet, so the air is thin for visitors from sea level. The venue's advice is to drink plenty of water, take your time on the stairs and wear comfortable walking shoes for the hike from parking to the gates. General Admission fans enter in a rush, nearly 10,000 people at once, so arrive well before door time. Tailgating is allowed. Everyone is screened and bags are inspected at the gates, so check the permitted and prohibited items page before packing.

Weather in the Rockies changes quickly. Expect strong sun, wind and sudden rain or snow, dress in layers and bring a poncho. In severe weather follow staff directions, which may include sheltering at your vehicle. If your chauffeur is waiting in the lot, you may be able to retreat to the car, but that depends on where it is.
Dress for the weather and the stairs. Arrive well before the doors, especially with general admission tickets. Stay in your ticketed seat: the venue says seat saving is not allowed and staff may check tickets. Refillable water stations are throughout the amphitheatre.
Visiting on a day without a show
On non-event days the park and trails open one hour before sunrise and close one hour after sunset, and the venue promotes free self-guided tours year-round. Admission and parking are free for the park, the amphitheatre, the Visitor Center and the Trading Post. The Visitor Center is open 7 am to 7 pm from March through October and 8 am to 4 pm from November through February; the Trading Post is open 9 am to 6 pm from March through October and 9 am to 5 pm from November through February, and closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
On event days the amphitheatre is open from one hour before sunrise until about 2 pm, with closing times set the week of the event and subject to change, and from March through November the Visitor Center closes early on event days, often by 2 pm. If you want to see the amphitheatre in daylight, choose a non-show day or arrive in the morning of a show.
A daytime itinerary with nearby stops
Morning: leave downtown Denver at about 8:30 am, arriving at the park shortly after 9 am. Walk the stairs, look around the amphitheatre and Visitor Center, and spend an hour on the trails.
Midday: Dinosaur Ridge is on the same road, at 16831 West Alameda Parkway in Morrison. Its self-guided walk is a 1.1-mile paved route, its main visitor center is at C-470 and Alameda Parkway, and a 45-minute guided bus tour is available. The Dinosaur Ridge site lists hours and tours. Lunch can be in Morrison or at Ship Rock Grille, which takes reservations through OpenTable.
Afternoon: return to Denver by early afternoon, or continue to Golden and Lookout Mountain, about 40 km (25 miles) from Denver by Visit Denver's listing, for a different view of the Front Range; Visit Denver lists day trips around the city.
Planning around the show calendar
Red Rocks hosts concerts through the spring, summer and autumn, and the venue's own calendar lists dates and links to AXS for tickets. At the time of writing, the calendar showed shows into late October, and the venue notes that it is marking its 85th anniversary in 2026. Dates beyond the current season are published by the venue, so check the Red Rocks website before you commit to a night.

Sold-out shows are the hardest to plan around. Arrive earlier than you think you need, agree on a pickup point before the show, and decide in advance whether you will leave early to beat the exit crowd. If the headliner finishes at about 10:30 pm, the whole audience heads for the same few exits at once, and that is when a prebooked driver in the right lot is most valuable.
Accessibility and guests who need extra time
The venue provides an accessible shuttle for guests who need it, with drop-off at the Upper South Lot (Entrance 3), and links to an Accessibility page. The amphitheatre has many stairs, and the venue's advice is to take your time. Tell the desk at booking if anyone in your party has limited mobility, uses a wheelchair or needs a child seat, so the right drop-off point is agreed in advance and the chauffeur is briefed.
Guests who find the altitude hard should plan a rest day before a big night out, drink water through the afternoon and avoid arriving at the last minute. The short trails and the Visitor Center are a gentler way to enjoy the park than the full set of stairs.
Groups, hospitality and corporate evenings
Red Rocks is a popular choice for client entertainment. A group of six travels comfortably in one Luxury SUV, and larger groups can use an Executive Sprinter, though the vehicle's width and the venue's rules for large vehicles need to be checked for the date. A corporate account gives monthly invoicing, and chauffeurs do not photograph clients or post about trips. We sign NDAs on request and take alias bookings for guests who prefer to keep a low profile.
For events where the host wants a smooth arrival, we suggest the following: confirm the lot and entrance with the desk a few days ahead, share the ticket time with the driver, and plan for a short walk from the drop-off to the gate. Keep the post-show message simple and the pickup point fixed.
Ways to reach Red Rocks compared
| Option | Time from downtown Denver | Cost note | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Private chauffeur, sedan or Luxury SUV | About 30 minutes, longer on show nights | Fixed fare via the booker | Couples, executives and small groups |
| Executive Sprinter | About 30 minutes, longer on show nights | Fixed fare via the booker, shared | Groups of 12 to 14 |
| Rideshare | About 30 minutes | Surge-priced on show nights | Solo visitors on non-event days |
| Rental car | About 30 minutes | Lowest, but parking can be far from the gates | Visitors comfortable driving mountain roads |
| Carpool through WayToGo | Varies | Low | Local concert-goers |
| Party bus | About 30 minutes | Per vehicle | Large parties |
The venue itself recommends carpooling or using a private bus service, which is a polite way of saying that parking is tight. A rideshare is the lowest-effort option on an ordinary day but can be hard to find after a sold-out show, since everyone leaves at the same moment. A prebooked chauffeur who knows where the Jurassic Lot is has a real advantage.
About the ride itself
The chauffeur works for a vetted, licensed and commercially insured local operator listed in our worldwide directory, and our 24/7 desk, handles the booking, confirmation and invoice as one package. Expect a late-model car that is fully maintained and inspected, with water and phone chargers in most vehicles. Alcohol is never promised on board, and local law applies. Event planners, hotel concierges and corporate teams can use a trade or corporate account, and monthly invoicing is available.
