A Las Vegas private jet charter looks simple on a map: the main airport sits almost on the south end of the Strip, and the flight from Los Angeles or Phoenix is short. The complications show up on the busy weeks. When a heavyweight fight, a major convention and a race weekend fill every hotel, they also fill every ramp, and the airport you pick decides how long you spend between the aircraft door and the hotel lobby.
This guide compares the three airports that matter for private flyers in the valley, explains what the two FBOs at Harry Reid International actually offer, covers arrivals from Mexico and Canada, and shows how the ground leg is planned so the car is already waiting when the stairs come down.
Which Las Vegas airport is best for a private jet?
For most visitors, Harry Reid International (LAS) is best: two 24-hour FBOs sit minutes from the Strip and on-airport customs handles international arrivals. Henderson Executive (HND), about 12 miles south of the Strip, suits travelers heading to Henderson or Summerlin's south side and anyone avoiding peak-week congestion at LAS.
All three airports are owned by Clark County and run by its Department of Aviation. The shared owner matters less than the practical differences: opening hours, customs and the drive.
Harry Reid International (LAS) is the airline airport, but its private side is separate from the passenger terminals. Business aircraft use one of two fixed-base operators on the airport boundary, and the car meets you there rather than at a terminal curb.
Henderson Executive (HND) is a dedicated general aviation field. The airport's own Henderson Executive Airport page describes a 24,000-square-foot terminal with meeting rooms, a restaurant and bar, and planeside limousine service, and puts the field about 12 miles south of the Strip with access to I-15 and the 215.
North Las Vegas (VGT) sits about three miles from downtown according to the North Las Vegas Airport site. It is a busy general aviation and training field that suits light jets and turboprops heading downtown or to the northwest valley.
Harry Reid FBOs: Atlantic and Signature compared
Your charter operator usually chooses the FBO based on fuel contracts, hangar space and crew preference. You can ask for one if you have a strong reason.

Atlantic Aviation lists its LAS facility at 275 East Tropicana Avenue, open 24 hours, with hangar space for aircraft up to a Gulfstream G650, complimentary valet, and a dedicated client relations manager, according to the Atlantic Aviation LAS page. The same page carries an important note for planners: the airport runs an ongoing Prior Permission Required (PPR) program, and a PPR is requested by phoning the FBO.
Signature Aviation operates from 6005 Las Vegas Boulevard South, also around the clock. Its Signature LAS page lists onsite customs and immigration for international arrivals, secure ramp access and rampside vehicle access, which is the detail that makes a planeside car pickup possible.
What this means for you as a passenger:
- PPR is the operator's job, but timing is yours. On event weeks, permission slots and overnight parking fill early, so confirm as soon as dates are fixed.
- Ramp access is decided by the FBO. Your chauffeur's name, vehicle and plate are sent ahead so the FBO can clear them.

Henderson and North Las Vegas: when the smaller field wins
The smaller airports are not a consolation prize. They are a deliberate choice when the main field is saturated or when your destination is not the Strip. Here are the private jet Las Vegas options side by side.

| Harry Reid (LAS) | Henderson Executive (HND) | North Las Vegas (VGT) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Type | Airline airport with two private FBOs | Dedicated general aviation airport | General aviation and training field |
| FBO hours | 24 hours (both FBOs) | 0500–2230, after-hours service for a fee | 0500–2230, after-hours service for a fee |
| Location | Edge of the south Strip | About 12 miles (19 km) south of the Strip | About 3 miles (5 km) from downtown |
| Typical drive to Center Strip | 15–25 minutes outside closures | 20–35 minutes via I-15 or the 215 | 20–30 minutes depending on I-15 |
| Customs for international arrivals | Yes, CBP general aviation facility | Check with the operator before planning | Check with the operator before planning |
| Best for | Strip hotels, international arrivals, large jets | Henderson, south valley, avoiding LAS peaks | Downtown, north and west valley, light aircraft |
FBO hours come from each airport's website; drive times are typical and event closures can double them. Henderson says its runways suit virtually all general aviation aircraft, so the real limits are hours and customs: a landing after 22:30 carries an after-hours fee, and international arrivals normally clear at LAS first.
Fight nights, CES and race week: planning around the peaks
Las Vegas is an events city, and the private aviation calendar follows it. Three kinds of weeks put the most pressure on ramps and roads.

Trade shows. CES in January is the biggest, and arrivals stack up over the weekend before it opens. Our CES Las Vegas conference page covers the venue side, and the series guide to CES car service explains hourly cars around the Las Vegas Convention Center. The NAB Show creates a similar, smaller wave of arrivals.
Race weekend. The Las Vegas Grand Prix runs on public streets around the Strip at night in November. For private flyers, the issue is less the aircraft than the road: sections of the Strip and nearby boulevards are closed for long periods, and hotel driveways may be accessible only from one side. Our Las Vegas Grand Prix event page is the place to check access notes before you fix the arrival time.
Fight nights. Big boxing and mixed martial arts cards create a sharp spike: everyone arrives Saturday afternoon and wants to leave after midnight. If you plan to fly straight after the event, tell the operator at booking so the crew's duty day is planned around it.
Practical rules for any peak week:
- Book the aircraft before the hotel. Rooms are easier to find than overnight parking for a midsize jet.
- Price a drop-and-go. Repositioning the aircraft elsewhere avoids parking limits but adds empty flights; ask for both options.
- Keep the car on an hourly booking for event nights. Point-to-point rides collapse when roads close; an hourly chauffeur waits and reroutes.
How much does a Las Vegas private jet charter cost?
Las Vegas pricing follows national charter pricing, with event-week surcharges and parking fees layered on. As a rough reference, a SherpaReport guide, published in 2021 using a charter broker's guideline figures, listed all-in hourly rates from about US$4,000–5,500 for light jets such as the Citation Mustang and CJ3, US$7,000–9,500 for midsize and super-midsize aircraft, and US$11,500–14,000 for large cabin jets such as the Challenger 850 and Gulfstream G550. Treat those as dated orientation, not a quote.
Taxes are not optional. In the United States, the IRS Publication 510 sets a 7.5% tax on amounts paid for taxable air transportation of persons, plus a domestic segment tax of US$5.30 per passenger per segment for 2026, and an international arrival or departure tax of US$23.40 per person for flights that begin or end in the US. A reputable operator includes these in the quote rather than adding them later.
The biggest swing factors for Las Vegas specifically:
- Positioning. If no suitable aircraft is based nearby, you pay for it to fly in empty.
- Overnight parking and hangar. Event weeks can bring higher ramp fees, and some FBOs require a minimum fuel purchase.
- Crew overnights. Crew hotel rooms are billed too, at peak-weekend rates.
- Short-leg pricing. Many operators charge a daily minimum, so a 40-minute hop from Los Angeles rarely costs 40 minutes of flight time.

Ground transport: from FBO ramp to Strip lobby
The car is half of the experience in Las Vegas, because the airport is close and the traffic around the resorts is not. If you already know your FBO and arrival time, you can price the car below; the fare is fixed before you pay.
Planeside or lobby pickup?
At LAS, Signature lists rampside vehicle access, and Atlantic offers valet and client relations staff. Henderson advertises planeside limousine service. In each case, the FBO makes the final call on the day. The usual sequence is: your chauffeur arrives at the FBO early, presents identification, and is escorted to the aircraft or waits at the FBO door, depending on security rules. Our private jet car service page explains how the desk sends driver and vehicle details to the FBO in advance.
What about the airline terminals?
If part of your group flies commercially, the rules are different. The Harry Reid limousine page says pre-arranged drivers meet passengers in baggage claim, with limousines and SUVs staged on the west side of Terminal 1 baggage claim and on Level Zero at Terminal 3. A meet and greet driver with a name board is the simplest way to merge a commercial passenger with a private arrival. See our Harry Reid airport page for terminal-by-terminal notes.
Licensing
Limousine work in Nevada is state-regulated, and every operator in our Las Vegas limo service network is licensed and commercially insured for the work it performs.
Which vehicle?
- Sedan or SUV for one to three passengers with normal luggage.
- Sprinter van with driver for groups of six or more, golf bags or production gear.
- A second car for luggage when a midsize jet's full baggage hold meets a sedan's trunk.
Free waiting is built in: 60 minutes after international landings, 30 minutes after domestic arrivals and 15 minutes for other pickups. For a private landing, the desk tracks the tail number's flight progress, so a 20-minute early arrival does not leave you standing on the ramp.
International arrivals: customs at Harry Reid
Flights from Mexico, Canada or farther afield must land at an airport where US Customs and Border Protection can clear them, and LAS is the valley's answer. The CBP general aviation fact sheet for Harry Reid sets out the process:
- Hours: inspection is available Monday to Friday 08:00–21:30 and weekends 10:00–21:30 Pacific time, with published blackout windows.
- Permission to land: pilots must phone CBP before departing the foreign airport and at least two hours before the expected arrival, with a tolerance of plus or minus 30 minutes.
- On arrival: aircraft park at the CBP ramp on the west side of the airport, an officer meets the aircraft, and passengers and crew clear inside the CBP general aviation facility before moving to their FBO.
- Documents: valid passports and visas for everyone on board, customs declarations, and a general declaration for charter flights.
So the car should be given the FBO name, not just "LAS," and expect a short gap between landing and release. The operator handles the eAPIS manifest; you supply passport details early.
How to book the jet and the car together
The cleanest trips have one itinerary with two suppliers. On the aviation side, LimousineWorldwideDirectory.com books the flight as your agent, and a licensed air carrier, such as an FAA Part 135 operator, flies it and keeps operational control. The ground leg is delivered by a vetted local operator from our directory, confirmed by the same desk.
- Send the brief: dates, passengers, bags, preferred airport and event, via the charter request form or (877) 860-3388.
- Compare options: on busy weeks, ask for LAS and HND quotes side by side.
- Lock the car on the online booker once the FBO is confirmed; the exact fare is shown before you confirm.
- Share manifest details early: names for the FBO and passport data for international legs.

Frequently asked questions
Can a private jet land at Henderson instead of Harry Reid?
Yes. Henderson Executive is a general aviation airport whose runways suit virtually all business aircraft. Its FBO is staffed from 05:00 to 22:30, with after-hours service for a fee. It sits about 12 miles south of the Strip, so the drive is longer, but it can be calmer during event weeks. International arrivals usually clear customs at Harry Reid first.
Can the chauffeur drive onto the ramp at a Las Vegas FBO?
Often, but the FBO decides. Signature at Harry Reid lists rampside vehicle access, and Henderson advertises planeside limousine service. The desk sends your driver's name, vehicle and plate to the FBO ahead of time. On some days security rules mean the car waits at the FBO door instead, which is usually a walk of a minute or two through the lounge.
How early should I book a jet for the Las Vegas Grand Prix or CES?
As soon as your dates are fixed. On peak weeks the constraint is often overnight parking and permission slots, not the aircraft. Booking early also secures the ground leg, because large SUVs and Sprinter vans sell out first when road closures make hourly cars the practical option.
Do I clear customs at the FBO when flying in from Mexico?
At Harry Reid, aircraft park first at the CBP ramp on the west side of the airport, an officer meets the aircraft, and passengers clear inside the CBP general aviation facility. After that, the aircraft and passengers move to their FBO, where the car is waiting. The pilot must arrange permission to land by phone at least two hours ahead.
Is a Las Vegas private flight subject to US taxes?
Yes. The IRS applies a 7.5% tax on amounts paid for taxable air transportation of persons, plus per-passenger segment taxes, and an international arrival or departure tax for flights to or from other countries. A properly built charter quote shows these lines so you know the all-in price before you sign.
What car should meet a midsize jet with six passengers?
Usually two vehicles or one Sprinter van. A midsize jet's baggage hold can carry more than a single SUV holds once six people and golf bags are involved. Tell the desk the passenger count and bag count when you book, and it will size the vehicles so nobody waits for a second trip.
